Nuff said... What are you guys thinking about it? I'm really pumped for it, it's just a bummer it's coming out two weeks after christmas. This is already my most anticipated game of 2010!
Wow.... Over 100 views and no reply! Haha it comes out tomorrow though. Go to http://www.darksiders.com/#/home and check it out. Then stop by IGN and check out some of their stuff. It looks amazing.
I suppose it might be enough said, if what you said actually made any sense... The game looks alright, but I doubt it'll be anything exceptional. I've read a few impressions from people who got it early, they say the graphics are nothing to shout about and the combat can be slightly repetitive and clunky at times, but it's a solid adventure and although it doesn't really add anything new, it takes a lot of older ideas and uses them really well. I really like the art style, reminds me of DMC4... I just wish the quality was a bit closer to DMC4's level.
Been hearing tons of good things about Darksiders, i'll be definitely looking forward to giving it a shot. It's just unfortunate that it's coming out when i've got 4 games on the go already, 5 including the fact that i'm still playing MW2 a little bit from time to time.
I'm looking forward to it, but may not pick it up because of the sheer amount of incredible games coming out early 2009. Everyone decided to delay their games so they wouldn't have to compete with christmas games, and now they all have to compete with eachother in february. Most looking forward to red dead redemption coming out in april.
The biggest release for me this month is Bayonetta after playing the demo. Darksiders does look like an awesome action/adventure game though, but I won't buy console games like I do with apps
looked it over, looks pretty cookie cutter compared to the rest of the "epic" games that keep coming out. What's so special about it? also, any game that touts that it is x of this game and x of that game doesn't really give a lot of credit to it's own creativity.
Looks pretty meh compared to the other games I'm looking forward to. Bayonetta just completely overshadows it.
I buy a ton of console games but I'm not all that interested in either Darksiders or Bayonetta. As I said earlier, Darksiders seems decidedly average, and Bayonetta... it's a little too arcadey for me, I wasn't digging the combat mechanics in the demo, although there's huge variation of moves available... kinda seems like DMC4 plus Ninja Gaiden minus the things that made them stand out. I think the next game I'm considering is Dante's Inferno, although I've yet to download the demo. Then I've got my eye on BioShock 2, Split/Second and Aliens vs. Predator
Bayonetta is basically Devil May Cry on steroids with nonstop action from the beginning to the end. It almost feels like TREASURE (developers of the most intense 2D shoot em ups on the market) made the game because there's just so much action going on and it can get pretty overwhelming for some people. I didn't really care for the game either until I downloaded the demo because videos and screenshots isn't a good indication of what this game is like
Oooh... it's almost out! I've been looking forward to this since I heard about it in a Game Informer magazine early last year... It looks so awesome, I want to see the progress they've made on it.
@KGameLover- Yeah, Dark Void is lookin pretty sweet. I'm always up for another 3rd Person Shooter. I honestly like them more than FPS. @Somerandomdude, Heck Yeah! Dude, I don't know why, but we like most of the same games! Kinda cool. Do you have a PS3 or 360? I heard the 360 had some screen tearing and dropped framerates while the PS3 is completly smooth. Fingers crossed it's as good as I hope! The reason I'm pumped for this is that Zelda: OoT had an awesome formula, and there haven't been any Non-Zelda games that could pull off a game like it. This finally looks like it will. Considering I grew up on Zelda, I'm way pumped to finally see a "more mature" version. No princess to save here. Don't think it's a straight rip off of any games though. The reason people say it's like Zelda is that it's open world and there is a boomerang and dungeons. It's it's own game. How many other games do you know where you play as an apocalyptic horseman in the future fighting for his redemption?
Reading reviews and most of them are extremely positive. I've seen a 9.7, 9.6, 9.4, and a bunch right around 9.1/9.0. The only major cons are that the world is a little big for just running around in, (You can teleport and you get a horse later on), there's two parts with some frame rate drops, (Although not game breakers it's said), and there is no multiplayer. I think the fact that there is no multiplayer is overshadowed by the fact that it has a campaign with 16ish hours on normal without the sidequests, and the rest of the cons made up by amazing graphics (for a open world action adventure game), a ton of new elements/gamestyles in the game, almost no load times, solid voice acting, and more. I myself am picking it up as soon as I can get my hands on it. Case closed.
Is the world free roam or linear? I watched a video of the first part of the game and it seemed kinda restricted, but it's possible that was just for tutorial purposes or something...
Just finished playing the Dante's Inferno demo and I've gotta say... it's now my most anticipated game of the next few months. Solid hack-n'-slash action. Not an RPG but a decent amount of upgrades/combos and the art direction is awesome, great enemy designs and I like the subject matter too... going deeper and deeper through the nine circles of hell is gonna be hectic!
Darksiders In my own tiny ol' opinion I say Darksiders looks pretty "epic" though, I just saw that IGN gave it a 7.8 but I didn't feel like reading to find out why. But I think its fine thet went and based it off of two other game mechanics being of course many peoples fav. Games (God of War & Legend of Zelda) seems to me it'd b hard to go wrong! But, depends on who ya are. Anyyywho.... How does everyone feel about Darkvoid? Seems kinda cool but id like to hear some more input! My top games to watch for: 1) Dante's Inferno 2) Red Dead Redemption 3) Mass Effect 2 4) Star Craft 2: Wings of Liberty 5) Halo: Reach well those are my unofficial most anticipated games for me. Im hoping they'll come out with a Gears of War 3. Now that'd be EPIC, literally
