The game is not paidmium at all. Try Endless Road and see what paidmium really means (maybe it became free to play to the core with a subsequent update, like it should have been from the beginning, dont know).

To be fair, I was just trying to help out DBC since I noticed that post in another thread and it answered his inquiry to what SumoSplash was thinking.

Freemium or not it's hard to ignore the fake/shill user accounts on page 5 promoting the game with links and whatnot. But overall regardless of all of this and the possible legal shenanigans of the game even existing... I'm bored of most endless highscore & upgrade games. So it's probably not for me despite the cool looking graphics. If it had a defined adventure with levels and an ending and stuff I might have been interested since it reminds me of drawing symbols in the dozens of various DS games I played years ago that utilized this play mechanic. But endlessly playing the same content over and over bores me to death most of the time so it's easy enough to ignore any other possible red flags and let gameplay be the one that points me to look at other games.

I hope that makes sense. I appreciate the regs that posted impressions and stuff here... that made the decision a lot easier to figure out if the game was even something I'd like or not.

Ha! I love this game and definately wouldn't call it freemium -- just challenging. And if a medium skilled player gets 200-300 stars per game then wow I suck even worse than I thought.

Again, not complaining, I guess I'm just artistically challenged that I can't draw fast enough (or even draw some of them correctly).

Anyway, at least for me, the powerup price drop hopefully will help.

Haha, of course not, one hint is try to collect all the stars in the bonus level ( after you kill boss heaven stage ) with your 3 fingers when they're just rising, so like you're erasing something with your three fingers.

You should be able to get at least 100 stars in every bonus level only :)

You can use more than one finger?

I get about 700 stars one each run and usually kill about 3 bosses, I try to grab them inbetween combos and I've found that when you get the lightening power up that zaps you through all the darklings if you keep you finger on the screen as it zaps along you pick up a load of stars.

To give you an idea of how bad I am, I haven't even made it to a boss. :(

Yes you can use up to 5 fingers, but of course to use more than 4 you have to turn off the MultiTouch Gestures from iPhone or iPad.

We even see people playing this together one is collecting stars other is drawing shapes. What you can do is draw the shape with 5 fingers, but the disadvantage is if you get inside more than 2 darlings at the same time then you can't make the darlings recoil ( you know you push them back when you enter any darkling )

I'm sensing now you can be the master of the game lol.

Yeah, my 8yr old little girl liked to help grab the stars when I first bought this, she wasn't too keen on the drawing though, she's brilliant at drawing but didn't like having to rush. I had no idea about using more than one finger though, not one single star is gonna get away from me now hahahaha.

I wondered about a two player mode or little multiplayer level but not sure how that would work, could see it being fun though.

    Check this score out.

Those little buggers sure do get fast, got a bit manic towards the end haha. Knowing I can use more than one fingers really helps.

Thanks for the update, I like a lot the dark santa :D

I voted for you on the IndieDB thing, one of the best of 2013 for sure.

And I would likely buy a coin doubler for a reasonable price (2 dollars max)... Hint hint ;)

There is a doubler that costs 10000 coins. If you want to pay, 10000 costs 1.99

Ah, I forgot to add the word "permanent". That is that if I want to delete and reinstall Darklings (for example, or a restore), the thing is still there. Dont like consumable stuff... much less paying IAP to unlock costumes (looking to another game). Thanks for the info I didnt know :)
