Game crashes on start-up with iOS 14. Hope it gets fixed quickly.

    Thanks for the heads up!

I’ll pass on updating to iOS 14 for the time being.

Ooph. Not good news. First notable iOS 14 casualty.

Maybe they can update it with universal support when they fix it...

    Yes, I dream big.

I fear this one might end up in the graveyard of lost games, but I’m with you all the way. Let’s get this bad boy up and running and universal.

I saw a video of someone playing it on an iPhone 8+ that they must have sideloaded or something, it looked no harder to play than the Baldur’s Gate ports.

I actually "played it" (more like had it run) on a regular, not plus, iPhone 6. It made the device hot and didn't play it much due to this. I think a slight(?) change in text size (plus a little UI tweaking) would have been enough to make it run on iPhones like a charm.

Other games I played like that include Dungeon of the Endless and Shadowrun. Perfectly playable yet not perfect.

I also played DD on my 6+ and now my max. Sideloaded (but i did buy a copy to support!). I use the iOS zoom function because it otherwise is rendered heavily windowed. I had no heat issues. It’s fairly playable on a max but could for sure do with some text size increases (which I’m sure is not easily done). But yeh, I still to this day am playing a run on my Xs Max (because it’s kinda long and imo gets a little grindy actually), and having a grand old time.

Yeah, haven’t played but there are some much more complex, tiny interface games like the Baldur’s Gate series than this. It seems like it would be totally doable on an iPhone.

Maybe it is too much trouble to make the game compatible with various aspect ratios of iPhone. iPad seems to have consistent 3:4 ratio across the series

I did and will follow up with any additional info they provide.

Threw this in, too. Can’t hurt, right?

Yeah, I also purchased it when it went on sale for like $0.99. I haven't been able to redownload the app installer because I don't have a PC [and an older iTunes version with AppStore support] at the moment to do so. I'm willing to try it on my iPh8.

The interface is fine on Switch. The Lite screen is actually slightly smaller than my iPhone 11 Pro Max, I believe. The text was a bit small on launch but they put in a tooltip font size bump for handheld that’d work on phone too.

So there’s no ergonomic reason it can’t work in Universal, at least on Max models. But I also don’t know who Red Hook has do their ports, or whether any update at all is feasible.

Red Hook got back to me today. They are aware of problem and are working on it. May take some time.....whatever that means.

And I’m sure they said it would be made Universal too, right? RIGHT?!?!

Sorry — missed this earlier. The Switch Lite screen is smaller than the iPhone 11/12 Pro screen, never mind the Max. There’s visual reason for this game not to be universal.

Did you mean to say there’s no visual reason for it not to be Universal?

I really do hope they make it playable on phones. If you can play something like Baldur’s Gate or X-Com 2 on a phone, surely you can play this.
