Whoa! I didn't know that. I didn't see a use for her really. Seemed second tier for others can do what she does better. I have been tight on money the whole game at week 30. Thanks for this great info!
I'm sorry I had to make a second post to discuss the narrator. LOL, this guy is killing me. "Aspiring corpses coming of the coach"
The antiquarian allows you to put more gold in a stack (750 extra per antiquarian IIRC), and when she is in your party, you can find antiques worth a bunch of money back at the Hamlet. You have to use her to interact with things though, otherwise you won't get as much antiques. Her abilities aren't that good though, so you'll usually end up bringing a protection party while the antiquarian gathers all the loot. Overall, great to have in an easy dungeon to maximize the amount of loot you'll get.
One tip is to pair the antiquarian up with either a Man-At-Arms or a Highwayman, and have those guys use their Riposte skills while Antiquarian uses Guard Me on them. You'll miss out on one turn worth of full damage between the antiquarian and the riposte guy (whoever you choose to go with) but the riposte counterattacks will make up for it most of the time, considering the Antiq doesnt do much damage on her own anyways.
ended up buying this after all and enjoying it a lot. still hope one day for iphone support though. now we wait for final fantasy 15
Mine did the same thing (fortunately was not too far in the campaign), when I startled I was on WiFi and when tried to continue I was in airplane mode and received an error and lost save. Has not happened yet since though.
yup I just lost my save files too. Was on wifi and when I switch off my iPad. Tried playing again later offline the saves were missing.
Can confirm. Happened to me. Put device into airplane mode then started up and save is gone. Bugger. Hadn't uploaded it to Dropbox either, otherwise I might have had a chance to import it back. Wasn't far in anyway, but what was being said here, curiosity got the better of me. A kind of decent bug. Will catch many out.
Has anyone managed to import a save from Dropbox? I can export no problem but can’t get import to work.
Here is an interactive reminder/sheet for curios and provisions : http://arnaud.rocks/darkest-companion/ The most important thing in this game is your (upgraded) Hamlet, not heroes. Don't be sentimental and just say goodbye to this level 1 holy knight full of afflications that will cost you a mountain of gold to cure, in favor of this newbie waiting near the stagecoach. When your Sanatarium will be modernized and upgraded, then you will start to be more protective and selective. Before that, think about upgrading stagecoach (to have three/four hreoes each weeks), available heroes slots, Guild Hall and Forge. An exception during early game could be the Vestal as the only dedicated-reliable healing class. But others have some interessting healing skills to mix with others. And Antiquarian, that are usefull to flow on gold after an expedition. Upgrades to reduce costs (of skills or gear levels) are not that usefull on the early game in my opinion : gold is easy to farm, heirlooms not that much. And start with radiant difficulty, the next DLC could be the occasion to play on an harder one.
Why would you want an iPhone version My problem with this game.. far too much crammed in on screen, its actually a chore to play for me. Even on an iPad everything is tiny, there is absolutely no way this game would work on an iPhone and those asking for it will get a shock if they receive. Very atmospheric, the narrator is great, art style an animation is wonderful. I look forwards to getting sucked in, however I am currently replaying Bastion so this will sit untouched for a while ;-)
This is best played on a console. Playing in front of a 55" tv with the controller rumbling away with every hit really sucks you in. I need a big screen to easily read all the text and stats also. I play it on a PS4. It would have to really be optimized even for the iPad and I don't think this small team can afford it. Great game though.
Why do you use iCloud sync if it is causing problems. Its not as if you need to be online to play the game, there is a local save, so what purpose does iCloud serve?
Almost want to cry upon losing not one, but two of my strongest characters. Double AOE crits and a stun on the healer. Hating the moment, but loving the game even more.
I didn't activate iCloud sync in the game nor did I knew it has it. It didn't even ask me to use iCloud, if I remember well. If it has iCloud I expect it to not wipe my local save stat.
