Gutted, I feel like Im going to lose a lot of teams.... so what happens if you opt out of a run? Ill go check google
They get a bit of stress for failure but they retain everything and more important, they are still alive.
Just lost my saved game due to some issue with iCould saves it seems ... Edit : nevermind pfiouh, relieved
Im currently addicted to this game. Havent lost any characters yet, and im 4 bosses in so far. Favorite team is Vestal, Grave Robber, Bounty Hunter, Leper. Sometimes i put Jester in for the Bounty Hunter's place, just to get everyone to near zero stress. I love how much strategy you can come up with with the different classes in Darkest Dungeon. I may swap Leper out for something else later on, but right now im having too much fun with the class. Most guides ive read and seen rank the Leper as one of the worst classes mainly because of the very limited range, and low initial accuracy. He has some monster base stats though, and his kit is pretty self sustaining, so i went with a team comp that plays around his strengths and weaknesses. Grave Robber helps with positioning, and Bounty Hunter's pull skill makes sure the Leper can hit something important (he almost one-shots everything). On top of that, both GR and BH have their own mark synergy going on. Even Vestal's got some synergies in this comp. Bounty Hunter's pull can put important targets withing Vestal's stun range, and Leper's Intimidate (damage and defense debuff) helps a lot in key bossfights to help the vestal keep up with her healing. Im pretty sure everyone's got a go-to or a favorite team... Care to share? Would love to hear more team comps that i could try later on.
I go with a pretty simple team at the moment, occultist, jester, hellion, crusader. I'm going to try out the abomination in one of my runs.
Not raining like in diablo type games, but yeah. There are trinkets that can be equipped, 2 for each character. And from what ive seen, there could possibly be hundreds of trinkets. Weapons and armors are fixed for each character, but you upgrade their stats. Other than that, there are tons of useable items and upgrade materials to be picked up, and loot that automatically get sold at the end of the dungeon run.
Looks like a good party. I imagine stress isnt a problem with this comp between the Jester and the Crusader.
To add to this... These are basically action points. Bosses usually have 2 action points... The ones ive fought at least.
I've been having some good success lately with plague doctor - occultist - hellion - man at arms. PD can either blight like crazy or stun the back ranks if you need to buy time, and combined with the hellion can shut down the enemies very well. Occultist is a great all rounder and the man at arms makes a very versatile tank. Lots of fun so far, and getting prepped to start level 5 dungeons... so hopefully they don't all die or go insane. Amazing game.
This game is just amazing. When playing, I feel like a lot is at stake. I barely made it out of a dungeon alive.
I actually like the pacing that came with the animations. It would get boring way too quickly if we could skip animations. One of the reasons i didnt like Sonny, but i picked it up on a sale, only to confirm my fear of the lack of animations, and eventually succumbed to lack of game balance.
Im at a point where the only way to progress farther is to tackle the long red missions, but im scared to lose my favorite characters that i have nurtured and played with carefully. LOL
Upload them to Dropbox, they'll be safe there. Still haven't found a way to restore them, maybe they'll sort it later.
So, this game is out of this world. Best game I've played in a long while, the music, the art, the narration, it all comes together to bring a hopeless world experience, where you feel like each of your successes are well earned, and your failures, a learning experience. I recommend going blind on this one, it's so fun to learn what you should/shouldn't do by experimenting around, and getting surprised by all the unexpected events. I've been left with my jaw open a few times, and that feels awesome. Be curious... at your own risk What difficulty did you guys chose? I went for the original settings (darkest), as I felt that's how the devs wanted the game to be experienced, and I'm not finding it to be terribly unfair. It's all about making the best out of a bad situation, as they so clearly put it at the start of the game. This is definitely goty for me, and if you feel like you'd enjoy this game, the price is an absolute steal for what you're getting, I'm playing it on a mini 2, and while I wish I had a bigger screen, it still plays wonderful, no frame drops, and the text reads quite well. At first, I had to get used to how to tap around the screen, especially when highlighting stuff to know what they do, but eventually got used to it and have no issues whatsoever with the controls. Anyway, great game, a must-have for any turn-based / dungeon-crawler fans. When so many games nowadays seem to try and make it as easier as possible for the player (especially on mobile), DD definitely doesn't hold hands, it wants you to learn through experience, and by god, I freaking love it.
Easily GOTY for me as well, I haven't been able to put it down. I'm also playing on darkest setting, and it's doable so far. Haven't gone into the darkest dungeon yet, but a few veteran runs are under the belt without casualty. I'm playing on an iPad pro, and the game is absolutely gorgeous. It's also nice to be able to use the apple pen to highlight some items that can be a bit fiddly to get under a normal finger touch. In particular, quirks can be covered up when you try to press normally, and it can be a hassle to get debuffs selected for viewing. Minor complaints though in an otherwise flawless offering.
