@hondo I just got an iPad2 and I was really happy to see great pixel art castlevania style game. I was hoping to give a feed back regarding the control. 1) Can you pass along a request to have option to move the onscreen DPad and action buttons toward the top of the screen? It is a much more natural position to hold the iPad up on the sides rather than the bottom corners. In fact it kind of make my mild Repetitive strain injury flares up slightly. Hehe. 2) Can the onscreen Dpad and buttons be smaller for iPad version (or have option to switch to smaller version) Again, playing on iPad, it seems like the onscreen control size up along with the screen. If those two things could be added that would be awesome. Right now I'm playing the game as if I'm using a keyboard. left index and middle fingers on DPAD and right index and middle fingers on action buttons. It works, but not exactly the best way to enjoy the game. hehe. I'd play on my first gen iPod Touch, but it crashes on start up *sad* Thanks and I hope to see more of the game
New update!!! New update is live and game is priced at 99c for a limited time. New Features: iCade Support Joypad Support Movable/Configurable controls Improved AI Many Bug Fixes
I am curious about this game and enticed by the sale but even at $0.99 would not purchase if I'm going to run into a "to be continued" brick wall quickly (or at all).
I admire the developers constant updates to improve the controls, at the same time I wonder why, they don't just implement af floating joypad or at least a traditional joypad instead of this one, that feels akward to use. The half circle thing might look nice design wise, but damn a simple pad/cross/floating thingie would beat this. Heck even a crouch button and a simple left right control would be awesome. When crouching, the last thing you want to do is stand up, because the pad reaches a dead zone. It's really a shame. The game is great.
Weird. Even though it is only 1030pm EST, 1/31/12 as of this writing, the web iTunes link showed $0.99 "66% off sale" but the iTunes app page shows the game at its regular $2.99 price. That sure was a really short sale window. That sucker shut pretty fast! Bummer.
Yep, just grabbed it myself. Only reason I never got it was due to all the complaints on the controls. Should be a pretty awesome game now. Edit: Really positive impressions so far. Controls are working great.
Should the 0.99 sale return, I will most certainly give this a try. I just might anyways. Does anyone know the approximate length of the game, in whatever time unit you feel comfortable with?
Unless the devs actually give and ETA on the future length and ETA on its arrival, I would have a hard time paying 99 for this. Its shockingly short. Actually... you get a good bang for your buck. All things considering. I would say its disappointing it is so short. I would have paid for more but it just isn't there.
Despite my going through several checkpoints, whenever I relaunch the game, it always starts from the beginning. None of my progress is saved. What gives?
I loved Castlevania so much that I grabbed this game since v1.0. The controls then werent so helpful but 1.1 came out fast which made the game really playable for me. The only thing i didnt like is more on the aesthetic side of things. I want to play a male character. I like seeing myself as the main character in the games i play which makes the game more immersive for me. LOL. The game is fantastic in every angle though, and the use of the touch interface when using skills and other game mechanics is pretty awesome.
