Thanks. I picked it up today. Plays well on an iPad. Too small for the iPhone 5s. I hope they fix that, but I'm not counting on it.
**edit** =oP **** Great game... really REALLY wish it'd get an update (alongside Rayforce/Raystorm) - they're all still on my phone... but I never play them anymore because of the 3.5' aspect ratio.
**edit** nevermind... still no response in the black areas and no 'widescreen' support. But the game works on iOS 9 now. So yay!
What device? The game is fully widescreen on my 6s. There are options for screen layouts in the settings, perhaps you're just set on one of the ones that has black borders. I'd toy around with it. And yes, I'd KILL for a modern update to Raystorm/Rayforce
Thank you! I just redownloaded it and I guess I had downloaded the previous version, because it was still 3.5 inch display. But this... THIS is AWESOME!!!! And yeah, I'd love to see Rayforce/Storm get the same treatment. Here's hopin', eh? =oP **is anyone else kind of surprised at the lack of posts since the widescreen update? I know a LOT of people have been hoping for it...
Be careful updating as 1.1.1 from 11th May 2016 wiped the saved game on both mine and my sons iPhones. It also doesn't save progress if the app is closed.
Sadly, it doesn't show up in the US store either. It does show up in my download history though. You'd think with widescreen support, they'd be wanting to keep selling it. Edit: missed this post. Maybe they pulled it temporarily to fix this issue.
Version 1.1.2 seems to have fixed the save game issue. I lost my save on my iPhone when updating to 1.1.1 so didn't update my iPad where I have cleared mission mode. I have now updated my iPad to 1.1.2 and my save game is still intact #. Saves me spending a week on 8-3 which I found to be even harder than 8-4 (boss rush mode, max difficulty).
Finally updated with widescreen support for modern phones...much appreciated! Hopefully Taito will include screen orientation flip/rotate in the next update. The current fixed orientation can be annoying with the iPhone speaker/port side in the left hand D:

Does this continually crash and quit after about three levels? I'm on an iPhone 7 iOS 10.3.2. Seems to always quit. Any info from anyone greatly appreciated.
Just played a few levels and seems okay for me but Im on ios11 beta Still cant beleive it doesnt auto rotate though !
Thanks for speedy reply, but even with update, it quits every time. Can never get past third level without quitting. Always seems to be around level three. Tried reinstalling etc, no joy. On iPhone 7 iOS 10.3.3 presently.
