That is laughable. Your opinion, of which you are fully entitled, is tainted for the rest of us by your incessant and senseless ranting. Amidst 200,000 apps, these guys found a unique idea and took it to the next level. Well done, guys.
Actually I did have a tough time categorizing the game. I thought of strategy but it seemed more action oriented to me. I mean most action games have elements of strategy, but not all strategy games have action. Plus, half the game is crashing Dave just just for the sake of watching him tumble. Action. The term strategy just doesn't fit here. Is Madden a strategy game? Any game could be classified as strategy if you define the term loosely enough. Racing is the other subcategory I chose. There's no racing involved, but you're on a motorcycle (?) and uh...well it isn't a card game! Funny stuff here tonight. OH! I thought of one more in-game secret I could use as a contest. But I don't have anything to give away as a prize. Hmmm. Well I'll sleep on it. Thank you everyone for your comments.
Hi, Bruno, sorry to see, by the content of a lot of your posts, that you maybe have lousy judgment in buying games. David
Awesome! When testing I tried to get the $250,000 worst crash score for a single jump. I never did, though I came fairly close. I also have never completed a perfect tour. Maybe I'll add a leaderboard of sorts for that. There is an achievement for it though. One other thing...does anyone think each jump should have its' own leaderboard? It would provide an incentive to go for a different high score if the alltime crash score seemed unattainable. It would also put other jumps into play that may typically give lower scores and would otherwise be ignored.
It would be cool to have each jump have its own leaderboard! In the long run, even when a person finishes the tour, they could focus on trying to get higher scores on specific jumps. Had an evening with the wife so I didn't get to play again yet, but am really looking forward to it!
I will be giving a few promo codes away later today, hopefully early enough so that people on the other side of the world (from the US) can win a few. Keep your eyes open everyone!
I've been watching these forums for a while, waiting for DD to be released, & was most pleased this morning at 6am UK time to awake & see it's finally out! Not played it too much, mainly on the Tube on the way into work, & the game is all the good stuff I expected, except where are the replays? I was looking forward to viewing a few fine lookin' successful jumps (& more to the point horrendous crashes!) from a couple of different angles! Don't get me wrong, I've no interest in "saving" them to view again later, but would quite like the chance to rewatch them a couple of times to appreciate just how good/bad it was, before moving onto the next jump. The preview videos suggested (to me anyway) that this would be the case. At the moment, each jump just seems to be all over a bit too quickly....
There isn't really a way to add accurate replays with the physics involved. Every crash is different, which is the part I like the most about the game. Sorry you feel it falls short for you. Practice mode is a good place to just crash the hell out of Dave over and over again and go for a high score I do most of my game playing there. Thanks for the feedback!
Oh, it certainly doesn't fall short! Funnily enough I was just having a game in my lunch hour. I was a big fan of Pain on the PS3 & thought we may get the same comical replays of Dave. Not a problem at all though, now getting somewhere on Tour Mode (finally learnt to practice new jumps first!) Thanks for coming back so quickly. Do you ever sleep?!!!
I would call it a game of strategy because it requires you to calculate factors such as timing, speed, height and distance. The only thing that wasn't included is wind. If it does then I haven't gotten that far yet.
Yeah i stayed awake all night because i didn't have college in the morning so i watched amovie and it still wasn't out at 4 but it come out about 5am, they should bring games out the same time..
Hi Commander Schplurg!!! Amazing, just found this thread and your game. Congrats on making the appstore, looks totally galactically stellar in every way. Will be downloading later, can't wait to play!
