Hey Sunny, we have an Android forum now, but am going to try to refrain from asking this too often. Any plans to port your games (particularly this one :) ) to Android? Still playing on the iOS, but have a Nexus tablet and would love to play your games on a bigger screen.

haha, I had this same thought about xbox live indie games. I'd love to see Sunny's games on there, and you could justify asking a bit more for the game, as well!

I'd forgotten just how pulse-pounding the boss battles were in DU1, and the boss in level 2 of DU2 brought all of those memories back and then some. Truly excellent experience that even CAVE games never gave me (mostly because I was too frustrated from always dying to be anything other than mad as hell while playing DDP:R, but I think the point still stands).

This game is great, and anyone who's on the fence should try the lite and then seriously consider plunking down a fiver. Stage 2 is a lot better than 1, and I assume that upward curve of quality continues.

That reminds me, I was kinda hoping boss rush would all be set in one continuous stage. It's not a big deal waiting for the load, but one smooth run through every boss with no pauses in between would be awesome.

Aww, man, that is the absolute worst. Is that worldwide and is it broken down by region? If so, and you see someone in my neighborhood, I'll be happy to punch her in the neck.

 Sorry to hear this. I bought my copy.

  7. Wow, the icade core really makes this game rock! I am really impressed with the icade core, it makes this seem like an arcade game, and man, it rocks! Wowzers. Attached is a picture of the game on my new ipad and hdmi tv with the icade core at the bottom. I highly recommend the icade core, it rocks in games like tabletop racing, dynamite jack, super crossfire hd, blazing star, metal slug 3, and many others.

    Wow, oh wow...

Is it strange that I cannot understand this? I can totally understand pirating $60 EA games and whatnot, but iphone apps at most cost less than lunch. Sorry to hear this. I bought the last one and just found out this was released and bought it as well. I have really enjoyed them and got way more bang for my buck than a lot of so called AAA titles.

To be fair, I understand being on an ios budget-- I am, since it keeps me from impulse buying my way into destitution.

But as soon as I read that rampant piracy was robbing Sunny of his rightful sheckles, I bought the full version. Craftsmanship this good deserves to be supported, I was going to do it soon anyway, and I'm only planning on buying one other ios game in March. I can afford to take a stand based on principle.

As should everyone else who's even remotely interested in this game. If a lack of finances on Sunny's end keeps us from getting a DU3, I will rage so hard it'll make Othello look like a Franciscan monk.

Actually, with a proper setup it's harder for pirates to hack iaps than the initial purchase cost. Also, this (DU2's) amount of piracy is 'normal' for iOS apps. I think a higher asking price won't push more people towards piracy, up until some point at least. Lots of players just never want to pay, some just don't know better (buying a phone jailbroken with cracked apps and using it forever in this state). You guys are all well informed, hardly the majority of the market, sadly :)

In other news, DU2 + Sanwa modded iCade = pretty damn awesome :D
I would like to see iCloud syncing or something though, to transfer my rank to other devices

I can understand not purchasing right off the bat. there are a LOT of games in the appstore, and the risk of nickel and diming oneself to death is pretty high. in the terms of a kid living with his folks and getting by with itunes gift cards, I can understand even more. but taking food off the table of a small dev is just unconscionable. :(

also wanted to say I totally need to get iCade now... damn.

I bought the game on the first day, the game is excellent, especially I like stages 4,5. I unlocked every achievements (I beat true boss too), but how to reach trillion points? Is there any secret scoring technique? I think I tried everything.

So, shmups were kind of always "how can this be fun" with me, so I never tried them. Seemed like a really good way to lose quarters fast. Given that, I'd always look past them with home consoles and the like.

I saw this one was getting a lot of attention in the forums, so I gave the free version a HOLY CRAP THIS IS AMAZING HOW DID I NOT PLAY THESE A TOTAL MIND F*** WITH THE VISUALS AND SPEED AND...

Suffice to say, "Thank you sir, may I have another!"

That said, I've already bought this one and the original. Can anyone recommend more at an average difficulty level? I feel like a junkie.

I'll probably do a scoring write up later on, right now I guess one tip is to have a good multiplier at the end of each stage as it has an effect on scoring in the subsequent stages even though it resets.

Any and all CAVE games is a good place to start.
    Dodonpachi, Espgaluda, Bug Princess, etc...
They all have easier difficulties to get you started, and cap out at insane bullet-hell madness. Also, they usually have some really interesting scoring mechanics.
