... dude, the music ... ? What did u do??!?

I mean like... the hell?! Why?!!

DU1 was 80% about the music, despite its gorgeous looks.

But what the hell is this crap supposed to be?!?

Couldnt u just do a remix of the original tracks??

The original was all free to use music. This and his previous shmup, Storm Strikers, were scored by Blankfield. They're definitely quite different styles, but I like both. I definitely like original music though in general rather than songs you could hear in many other games.

DU1 was 10% music, at best.... It was a nice fit, but its NEVER what made the game.

  7. Has anyone gotten The original DU to work with an icade core? DU2 and storm strikers works, it was posted DU would work too, but it doesn't for me, maybe they were talking about this game. Anyone know? Really wanna play DU on my hdmi tv with icade core, but can't.

Connector you should start an iCade thread, or maybe an entire site, with HDMI sub genres.

@Exact-Psience aww shucks that's a drag. If I come across any more deals I will let you know, I am sure you should find something eventually.

@Foxbat congrats on a fantastic game. I am still holding out hope for a TA review, this game deserves recognition.

  15. Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Man, I love the original DU, and dig paying it hdmi tv to counter the iphone only 2x.

But I and others would LOVE it to have icade support. And I promise to do my best to publicize all of your games!

Storm strikers and DU2 are just AWESOME on my icade core. I can't begin to say how awesome the big stick is with a thumping soundbar.

Even having fun playing some old titles like Shogun, Warblade, and Velocspider. Wow, would have never played them before, but with my icade core, wow it's just like being in the arcades like years ago, even better cause it fits in my backpack with my soundfreaq bluetooth speaker.

But yes, please add icade support to DU, I got two other developers to add icade support to alien crusher and delta-v. Your game would be the third! But it would make me proud to say i had a small role in getting joystick support to DU, one of my first favorite shmups long ago on my iphone 4.

I would be honored if you could add it to DU, and someday, you will see many of the members on Toucharcade will have wireless joysticks that just rock. The icade core will pickup steam, just like hdmi tv and appletv have here on Toucharcade in the last 6 months.

So, yes, please do it if you can. I will owe you a favor, cause I have fond memories of DU, and look forward to playing it one day on my icade core.

Actually, I am glad that you all are interested in the icade core, I really look forward to having a couple more of TA's elders supporting it and propelling us into the future of using wireless joysticks and our ipads as consoles.

6 months ago, I felt kinda lonely being one of only a few people that gave hdmi tv a shot, but now so happy that so many people on this board are using either hdmi tv or its sister appletv now.

Kinda feel alittle bit the same way with my icade core, but I can't even give it the praise it deserves. Man, it just rocks! It feels better than an arcade joystick and man, love it more than an xbox or ps3 joystick!

Especially on games like DU2, Blazing Star, and Tabletop racing, it just rocks! DU2 plays totally awesome with my icade core, and it is just a total different experience. The feel and such makes it feel like an arcade game.

Used to think this icade stuff was just for hardcore cabinet mod guys, or it was a fluke with this bluetooth keyboard imitation stuff. But man, when I got it, I was shocked, and it wasn't nearly as expensive as I thought. Actually a good deal price wise, cause it is a heavy duty stick with very good mechanics and buttons.

Even junky old games like Velocspider (attached) are coming back to life with joystick control over the default tilt controls. It really is fun and brings back old memories of being in an arcade.

The hdmi thread has become more of a icade core thread as of late, check out some of my posts about DU2. Here is the link:

Icade core and DU2 is a sweet combination!

I like a virtual joystick for what I call "enemy swarm" SHUMPS. You know, the type of SHUMP in which the hit box is essentially the entire graphic of your ship and enemy bullets don't necessarily flood the screen like a bullet-hell; instead they channel you into collisions with enemies.

Did you just call Velocispidet junky? :(
Airplay is great for games like that Cthulu board game...I only have the iphone version, and it's too tiny to read. With boardgames, lag is obviously not an issue, so I can sit back and watch the game play out on my 54" tv. Though I'm still using my phone as a controller.

Generally, but games like DU2 and Raiden Trilogy play really good with an old arcade stick, plus it makes play on my icade core even more frantic with the overload of bullets. So it is cool.
