I think it stands to reason that all of our suggestions are said under the assumption that he actually wants to do more with the game. We're just throwing out ideas, I'm not gonna try and make someone work when they don't want to :p

Regarding game length, this is the reason I love Shoot The Bullet so much. You don't play the game in a single run, you play a boss battle one at a time then go back to the menu and select something else. It means we can be completely spoiled with as many levels as possible, tons and tons of content, and it doesn't affect the pace of a single gaming session. I know that's not what DU2 is all about, but damn, I wanna see more like it on the App Store. rRootage is the closest thing we've got.

    No, I wish.

List of icade games. Get an icade core over the other icade models, you will absolutely love it.

    http://www.ionaudio.com/products/icade-games

Was playing one of this developers titles Storm strikers today, even though it is iphone only, wow played so well on hdmi tv with my icade core. I was shocked.

Danmaku 2, blazing star, metal slug 3, air attack hd, super mole escape, gunman clive, paper monsters, league of evil, frogger decades; was playing these in the last hour... Wow, so much fun!

Games play totally different with an icade core. I highly highly recommend it.

And funny cause when I suggest instantaneous touch like they did in Blazing star, you are always the first to want old style controls.

So this is your chance for that arcade stick, so I think you should give it a try. It is your style, if I love it, you will love it even more than me. :)

Yeah... I was saying that I LOVE DU2s controls, not that I don't. I actually think I'd hate playing this with a joystick. I love actual controls, but with bullet hell titles and shmups, nothing beats the touch screen... IMO of course (sucks I have to say this all the so as not to piss anyone here on TA off...)

I'm pretty new to the forums and also haven't played many shmups, but I recently bought several (including this, love it so far) and am trying to get decent at them. Can I still join that group? XD

DU2 is hands down my favorite iOS shmup now, surpassing Storm Strikers by quite some distance. I really hope Sunny Tam is able to put funds towards developing SS2 eventually!

Characters and plot are the absolute last thing I care about in a shmup. I can barely remember any plot points for all of my favorite shmups, including Sin & Punishment 2 which had a lot of cutscenes.

  7. Hehe, not trying to get you in hot water with the touchscreen vs joystick debate. Anyway, just mentioned it cause I always ask for instantaneous touch controls, and you often seem to like more joystick like delay touch controls, like in Blazing star or Raiden. Anyway, it is a total different feel and delay, and I like both touch, and a physical joystick.

I really think you would like it, it really just gives you an alternative to the standard DU2 controls, it is not a competitor. I prefer playing DU2 with my icade core, much better, but then again, if I was going for high scores, touch controls are much better, joystick controls are not as precise, and might prove frustrating. But for a change of pace, it is fantastic, and hopefully one day, you can play DU2 with a big stick. I am really impressed with it, and I thought you would be the perfect person to appreciate it due our past conversations with the developers of Blazing star and raiden legacy. Both of which, ironically support icade core support too. Anyway, I am done trying to convince you to try an icade core since it is on sale for $25. Just hope sometime you can experience it, it is wonderful.

Thank you developer for implementing icade controls, today, I played Storm strikers with icade, and wow, it was great. Maybe as someone suggested, a Storm Strikers 2 with icade support? It would be sexy...

Exactly. There is no doubt that this game is spectacular as is, whether another board is added or not or if other modes are added or if there is never another update for it at all. I just want to see it as good as it can be, and this is completely under the assumption that Sunny will be doing more work to it (which he has already alluded to).

And if it is more feasible to do work on StormStrikers 2 as opposed to continued efforts with DU2, then I say bring it on :D

I just hope there's something that can be done to pirated copies of the game. Sucks to see talent stolen and not even recognized.

    Hey!

... Yeah alright. It is a bit unfair that I've had the game a week longer than most... But you were part of the beta team, so you're sidelined too. :D

Besides, it's more about bettering your own score and understanding the scoring mechanics a bit more than competing with eachother's scores...

You know it's funny, I played the heck out of this while testing it, but I feel much more in tune with the mechanics aspect of the game since the release. There is definitely a slight learning curve, but it is one that is appreciated with time.

It's such an intense game that I find I have to rest my fingers and eyes for a bit with a couple rounds of Phoenix HD.

    JUST KIDDING EL!!!
    Hehe :D

Hey SV, im not a big bullet hell shmup player, but i do love DU2 to bits. Is that enough to join the group or the competition? Would really like to learn from you guys how to score in this game :D

Yes. Anyone, no matter their skill level can join. Again, its more about bettering your own score and bettering your understanding of the scoring mechanics than it is competing against eachother. =o)

Also, we don't tolerate any sort of "what?!? 15,000?!? You SUCK!" talk...

That sucks. I was SO going to talk smack on you void if I found a way to beat your score :p

Lucky for you, I don't think that is possible :D

I have noticed similar issues both during the Beta phase and with the full version. Often times if I get a message or leave the game and come back I will be unable to move my ship.

I just chalked it up to bugs that Sunny hasn't had a chance to address yet.
