No, it is all outside the craft at the moment. I know that there are some space sim fans who prefer a cockpit view. What things inside the cockpit would you want to see? I suppose controls similar to fighter jets like thrust, radar, attitude/yaw, targets list, weapon list...? (Pretty much condense the current displays into a unified cockpit design I suppose for starters.) I guess I'm trying to understand the scope of such an undertaking.
These are all, obviously, good suggestions. But I'll never understand why everyone wants every game to be just some other game. Make it different! Make it awesome! I already own GOF2...I don't need another one. BTW, I love this game....
Perhaps the cockpit view could be used for other things, like mining, repairing other ships salvage derelict ships and stuff like that, while combat is 3rd person view, or maybe give the player freedom to choose, maybe allowing for the wingman-com-system in cockpit view? And/or Maybe allowing for planning and plotting multiple gate jumps from inside the cockpit to give the autopilot a bit of an extension! Oh....and a crosshairs for better aiming would be really nice! ) Btw: I think I got the hang of the game, and it is (for me) even more awesome then I dared expect from any iOS title! this is amassing.
I cant believe people want to reverse the controls ! In any flight sim you press up to go down and down to go up - i know it sounds weird but in major flight sims (Or other space games like Elite or X2) it always works like this just like the controls in a real plane would
Just played the demo, and it's amazing! I'll buy this in the next hours Some suggestions: -COCKPIT VIEW please please please, with reasonable fov and unique for each ships -Ships model preview in market -Deployable mining devices on asteroids that make you earn money over time? -Ability to change hud position -Free look view around your ship like in Gof2 (for screenshots) -More particles in space (no fog) to make you feel like you're moving fast Thanks for considering this, and thanks for the space opera Hope you'll make expansions (new systems, ships, modules...) in the future (free or paid)
Makes the game somewhat more authentic doesn't it! But then again, I can wait with the cockpit view if it means that the first person point of view planetside/space station walks is coming out first! I'll choose the 1'st per. p.o.v planetside/space station walk, over cockpit view anytime!!! Same for the 1'st per. Spaceship boarding thing they have been talking about! Say.....is any of those things really coming in to the game? Or is it just some sales trick?
If the the ship boarding idea is a "sales trick", it sure isn't living up to its name. We're definitely doing the boarding since it will clearly help distinguish us from the competition aside from the depth of gameplay. And it's a feature we've always wanted. I don't know yet about a cockpit view, and I don't want to promise something we can't deliver. It's a little tough right now financially and motivationally since sales are anemic partly because so few news outlets have covered us. But we're going to soldier on. Let us know if you have any ideas.
Now that was exactly what I wanted to hear! That makes me a very happy man, and I'm sorry for the provocative question in end of my post! I'm looking forward to finding those features operational in-game, I'm sorry to hear sale are low, and that you haven't been covered that much, that strikes me as a tad odd with such a game on your hands! Perhaps you should bee more agresive in your branding of your company as well as for the game? Contact the media yourself, to let them know about you? But what do I know about branding! Anyway, I think the game stands out perfectly from all other as is, but the boarding feature is one super hot idea. Was the plan the to make it possible to board any ship you wanted, or only derelict ships? It would be a super way of stopping hijacked ships, simply take out the hijackers, or hijacking the ship yourself! I Will post as Many ideas as i Can, but I haven't even started scratching the surface of what this game can offer, and with the new update comming soon, I'm laying low on the idea side, until I have a better IDEA (haha) about what the game can offer as is, but I have feeling that will take more then a couple hours to do! So I might accidental let a small idea slip once in a while, really I'm so enthusiastic about this game that I can't help myself, just look at the length of this post! Ha! It's an entire book almost!
I'm actually really surprised at the lack of reviews online. Maybe the game is just so deep, so long, that reviewers are taking their time to finish it? I know this was a labor of love for the devs, and it's really intriguing so I want to jump at this, but I've never played Eve, or Elite, and to be honest I found GoF2 to be kind of dull, somehow. Even still I would go ahead, but I am worried that the UI will be really cramped and unworkable on an iPod Touch.
Something I found odd was the UI was cramped on my iPhone 3GS, but when I played it on my iPod Touch 4th Gen, it was still crowded, but easily more workable than when I played on my 3GS (could be it was updated or something in between and I wasn't paying attention to my updates, though). So much to do, so many icons and different modules and what not... Sometimes it gives me a headache. I was used to playing GoF2 so it's a little hard to remember all the stuff to do in an engagement: repair shield, web the enemy, launch missiles/activate turrets, set auto pilot to orbit, follow or chase, set distances and speed, watch for HP and energy... At the same time I love it. Much more engrossing than GoF is, due to the involved nature of gameplay. Feels like I'm really commanding a ship rather than just jerking a virtual joystick and pressing the fire button. Can be quite overwhelming when you first jump into it... But it really does reward the player who can learn it with hours upon hours of awesome gameplay. Oh and I should mention that I've never played EVE but have watched videos on it, so I don't have any experience in Dangerous type space games.
I appreciate that you posted those observations. I don't know if the developer has said anything about reworking the UI, or if it would even be a good idea to do so... Hmm... I need to ponder some more. By the way, I think you've hit the nail on the head re: GoF2 for me. I think I just wasn't immersed in it. Not knocking that game, but it wasn't the arcadey experience of the first game and at the same time it didn't nail a real sense of simulation for me, either.
Unlimited money glitch? When you buy a ship, press assemble and then package it keeps adding ships to your local storage. Then you can sell them over and over... Fix please
Have they fixed the "beaming Jesus light yet "LOL ...I also request invert controls too.. Really want to install again on my ipad2....
I just bought the game to support the devs, I got 4 to spare, won't make a difference in my pocket, but hopefully it will in theirs. I don't really enjoy games set I space, and especially not games centered around a vehicle. But I'll try it. This boarding I've read about, is that going to be boarding as in attacking another ship in human form and with some kind of party? If so Im definitely going to give this a chance and wait patiently for the boarding to be added. If it is boarding as I described it, how will it be handled? -Just fps style no brainier shout out? -a rpg turn based style with a party? -rpg 3rd person real time combat ala jedi knight games? Either way, I personally think it would be a great addition to what sounds like a well produced game.
Support for the Onlive bluetooth gaming controller would be a differentiating feature. That would be great for the ipad2. Combine that with airplay and you could play properly on your tv too. You would have to map all the buttons on the screen to buttons on the controller of course.
Quick question! I found a derelict lathainian (or however it is spelled) ship, and now what? What can I do with it? And how?
Update is live! Really looking forward to play it as soon as I get home btw, I suggest finding some other word apart from "Dangerous" for the title. I understand that it is called like this because of the main character, but it's not a selling name. Search for "Dangerous" in the app store and you'll see what I'm talking about... Maybe "Dangerous Nullspace"?!?!? Just a suggestion, but I'm sure there are more creative people out there who can give you a name or two.
