Ok everyone, the Alpha version of JSGamePortal (the server used to host Lost Company games) is now up and running. Being still in Alpha, many of the game features are still being developed, but you can register an account and sign up to be a potential Alpha or Beta tester for Lost Company if you wish. Even if you don't want to sign up as a tester, creating an account is quick and easy and will make you eligible for two XP Bonus tokens if you buy Lost Company close to its release date. And finally, creating an account helps us test out server load and other important server things which will make your experience so much smoother later on. Yeah I signed up as well, it asked me to sign into my google account which I assume streamlined the process which is cool
Yeah, you'll need a google account to access the site - it streamlines things and lets us store everything on Google's servers which helps us out a lot.
Is there going to be any more opportunities to acquire game tokens before or after the game's release? And will there be tokens that affect things other than XP?
Selection may take a day, but we wont be selecting anyone until Lost Company is ready for Alpha and we know exactly what we need to test. So getting Lost Company ready for Alpha is the real question. We're pushing really hard, so it'll be as soon as we can physically manage it.
Seeing how alpha/beta-testing hasn't even started yet, I'd say it'll take a while. Definitely looking forward to this though.
Help So I signed up for the online jsgamestudio thing and I don't know if I will be a beta tester or not because you said you had an option to chose what you want to do. I want to be both, but was there something you were suppose to select to tell you if you were a beta or apha tester. Oh ya and what is the UDID for? I know how to get it and all, but what is it suppose to do?
Once you sign in, and after you've selected a username etc to create an account, you should see a questionnaire that asks a few questions about what devices you have and some other stuff. If you don't see this screen after creating an account, try using the "Register As Tester" in the menu on the left. The UDID will be used if you're chosen as a tester. We need it to build a special version Lost Company that will run on your device without the App Store getting involved.
Moj is off at GCAP, so we made up some cool business cards - the only thing cooler is Lost Company itself!
Those look really nice. I'd be willing to buy a set of those cards if they are ever sold to the public.
