Is the character movement still in development or is it final that the characters instantly transport to where you touch on the screen when its their turn to move? Not having played it I can only speculate so much, but from the video it seems like of confusing that they just instantly appear there. Most games like this have them walk over to the new location. Just wondering.
That video that was posted is quite old, and misses out on lots of features that are in the game now Here's a video that's still old (and doesn't contain a lot of the latest features either), but closer to the current. We'll be posting some new gameplay vids soon. We're still working hard on all the elements of gameplay and animation so while these videos are a taste of what's coming, they're nowhere near the final product.
is there going to be a 'fast mode'? that speeds up or removes animations? i know many games include that sort of thing.
We have a few different tricks up our sleeve to reduce the time waiting - but we're yet to try them out to find the best one.
The JSGamePortal is just about ready to accept Beta Tester registrations for Lost Company. There's just a little bit more content I want to put in the server before it goes public, but it's not far off..
In Lost Company, you'll be the commander of the army that levels up and unlocks new weapons and perks to use in the game. These units and perks will be used to create your squads that you can put into battle - so rather than having a person that you're upgrading, it's your entire squad. The squad customisation will let you create a new squad at any time in the game, so if you're not liking the tactics of your current squad, you can scrap it and try something different. Here are some concepts of what the squad layout might look like - I'm just in the process of putting this into the game now..
AWESOME!!! And those screen shots about the squad customization are GREAT!! This is truly shaping up to be the best game ever!
The link is very close to being posted with final testing, legals and a few minor features just happening now. We will actually have an alpha and beta period where we will need testers as the gameplay will be ready to test before the full content. When you sign in to the game portal, you'll be able to register for Alpha Testing, Beta Testing or both.
Thanks! Being able to play the game with big, super smooth graphics at home on your Mac, or on the run on the smaller, more portable iPhone is a huge plus. Especially for a game that's not designed to have matches played in one sitting. I wish more games would let you just play on the best hardware you have available at the time.
Yeah I agree, remember the Dreamcast had some sort of Memory card you could play games on? I've been wishing for a modern version of this for years. Haha I'm afraid I'm going to have to find someone to blame for ruining my degree and social life and you're looking like the prime suspect! Keep up the good work!
