I found the video very confusing. How do you tell which troops are friendly and which ones are the enemy? They all look about the same to me.
The teams are distinguished by color... red for one side, blue for the other. You can tell by what they are wearing.
Well, maybe you can tell. I thought there might be a color component, but I find it very, very subtle and hard to distinguish. Maybe part of that is the washed-out colors in the video and it would be clearer when viewing the device directly. But can't they change the text color, for the two teams?
In the image in #245, there's a guy with red hat and blue pants. Is he on the red team or the blue team?
Just finished updating the text colour and it's makes a world of difference. Thanks again for the input - we need comments like this to help us step back a bit. Given that we play the game four hours every day we can easily look over some things.
could you still sign up to be a beta tester. On you website it says there is only 50 positons available.
Yeah, you can still sign up. The 50 positions were for the Alpha test period, but the beta testers haven't been selected yet.
I keep asking this, but can we name our team members, please? In the same way as you can with the Worms games... Also, do you have random placement of baddies/objectives in Skirmish mode?
You'll be able to rename your units just as soon as we figure out a good way to present it in the GUI. As for objectives, you'll be able to choose between a plain death match mode, a Strategic Victory mode (where you must capture flags and units respawn) and a Valuable Target mode where your leader unit must survive but starts on very low health. We'll have to do a bit of testing to see if random placements will work though.. I have a few ideas that will be random but will still give each side the same chance of winning. We will let you know how we go
Great stuff, thanks The three different game modes sound like a lot of fun! I love the art direction you're going in too, by the way. I saw the map screenshots you'd posted onto Facebook, and they look really smart.
we're planning to be finished in the next couple of weeks but then it'll have to go through the approvals process. There are a few features yet to go in but mainly it's polish time right now with all the little things to make playing so much more enjoyable and easy to learn. Moj is doing final passes over the levels and the UI and they're all looking fantastic. Also, we're coming up with a new name as there are legal issues with keeping "Lost Company". We've just about decided what the new name will be so stay tuned for that very soon.
You can still sign up online but we're only selecting a very small number of people for the skirmish beta. We should be selecting a lot more for future releases so if you're interested then definitely put your name down at http://www.jsgameportal.com
Aww, a new name? I was quite keen on Lost Company. Have you any ideas so far, on what it'll be? Do you need any help?
We really like Lost Company too, but we talked to an IP lawyer and the risks are just too high to keep it. We've got a bit of a short list of new names and I think we have one we like more out of the bunch. I'll have a chat with Moj about it tomorrow morning and see what we're happy to divulge.
I don't know if this was asked already, I didn't see anything in the previous pages, but I was wondering if it would be real time multiplayer or asynchronous. I would prefer the "play when you have time" part of asynchronous, as it goes hand in hand with turn based games. If not, any plans to make it an option? Game looks awesome!
