Cop pulls me over, for a modified exhaust. Looks at me, I just got back from swimming. Tries to tell me in under the influence. Im completely sober. Asks me questions for 30 mins. First tried to tell me im drunk, then tried to tell me im High. Made me do a bunch of test, all nothing. About 45mins-1hour of wasted time of being harassed. He even ask me to come down to the station and take a pee test, Im not wasting my time any further, its 12AM.

It was all because of my eyes, tries to tell me afterwards that Im in the 1% of people that have "effd up" eyes.

This is the third time this has happened. Another time I got pulled over for a taillight out and I was very very generous and I left them do a FULL search of me AND my car, I even offered to let them do it, I got NOTHING to hide.

Dumbass Cops. Then they wonder why they got a bad rep. They say they are just doing their jobs and are trained to do this shit, Harassment is NOT doing your job, just cause I'm 17 doesnt mean i smoke weed or drink. Furthermore should NOT give them a right to harass me like that.

Hell I should go into the station and take that pee test tomorrow voluntarily. Then give em the cops name and everything.

    This is NOT okay.

And about the eyes, like i said 3rd time concerning this, its just my eyes they have always done that I guess. Any type of eye medication i could take? Should I go to an eye doctor?

    Hi Phil,

Do you mean the red eyes you get after swimming? I think its because of the chlorine in the swimming pool water.

One way is to use goggles, but water can still go in and make your eyes red. The better alternative is to just use eye drops. Its supposed to reduce red eyes. One brand is called Visine.

I hear that if you go swimming and smoke pot at the same time, the red eye things cancel each other out. That is a lie, of course.

    LOL! This Dude Is Pissed!

    Just kidding... ;)

If your eyes are only red after swimming, it's probably the chlorine and over-the-counter eye drops like Visine will get rid of the redness and irritation.

If your eyes are red frequently (and not from swimming, drinking, smoking, or lack of sleep) you might have an eye infection or insufficient tear production...in which case you might want to see an eye doctor or even your regular doctor. Anything other than Visine or Refresh eye drops requires a prescription.

I don't know where the police officer is getting the "1%" from. There is no such statistic, so I assume he just made it up. If your red eyes are so obvious to the cops, maybe you should just get them checked.

some of them are pretty dumb, cuz no one wants to b a pig so any redneck with a gun can b a cop, like the one who killed 3 teens in a mall with a sawed off because they called him piggy, also cops are ruthless when it comes to pot, if u have red eyes then they will taze you if you make any sudden movements, but thankfully obama is going to legalize it so no more problem :)

WTF were you thinking?!?!? You let those fascist pigs do a search of you and your car without them having a warrant or probable cause?!?!?

Anyway, you should call the department and complain. They will get into deep **** with their superiors. My father was a police officer, and I plan on becoming one, so I know that most departments these days are obsessed with their public image. They want to get rid of the bad rep that they have, and officers like these are the exact opposite of those goals. If you complain, you could even get these guys suspended or fired, which they definitely deserve for their treatment of you.

Also, it doesn't matter if you have "nothing to hide". Why don't you try standing up for your rights? You have rights protecting you against unreasonable searches, so I suggest you exercise them even in times when you think you don't need them. There are a few applications by the ACLU on the App Store that I would recommend to you, such as "Your Rights" and "Know Your Rights".

Why would you try to get a man fired because of one mistake? Obviously he had reason to believe something was going on because of your eyes, so he was just trying to be cautious. If you WERE drunk or high, and he let you go and you got into an accident, everybody would be saying the cops aren't safe or thorough enough. An hour of wasted time trying to be safe doesn't justify trying to get a man fired from his job and completely ruining his life. Have a heart and let it go.

Some cops do their job, yes, some cops harrass, yes. There is no way around it, if you are going to get pulled over, you are getting pulled over. The best thing to do is just keep it cool. I treat them like bees. Don't f*ck with them and they will leave you alone (unless you are doing something bad). Often I have red eyes (not from swimming lol) and an eyedrop by the name of "Roto V" They have a cooling effect and work wonderfully and leave your eyes actually feeling refreshed for a while. Clears up in about 2-5 minutes. I suggest the green one. As for the cop problem, I would just get used to it. It sucks and you can complain (ask for their Supervisors, trust me, that get's their attention quick) but there usually isn't a whole lot of justice that comes from it, and this is coming from Personal exp in the Central Arizona area. Your area might be a tad different. Best of luck to you bro, and like I said. Green RoTo V eye drops. Cost around 2-3~ bucks.

I got pulled over and ticketed for not wearing my seatbelt on saturday. I've been pulled over for a lot of things, but this is the first time a cop pulled me over for no other reason then I wasn't wearing my seatbelt. I should have the choice between internal injuries and ejection from the vehicle at high speed. If I want to fly like a missile instead of being crushed like a coke can, why can I not make that choice? Plus I asked if he was serious and he said they can't give out warnings,....I was like well, how bout no warning, no ticket, no anything??? Nobody will even have to know this happened....he did not like this response and proceeded to deliver my $96 ticket firmly into my hand. Funny thing is is that I was probably driving the nicest I ever have.....aren't there drunk driver's to thwart??

There is a difference between being cautious and being a complete ass, which this cop was being. I have a lot of respect for police and anyone who would put their life on the line for an extremely small salary (as I've said, my father was one, and I've wanted to be one since I was 5), but some people get to be arrogant douches when given power.

Holding someone for an entire hour is excessive, and an abuse of power. You can do a field sobriety test in about 5 minutes, and get a pretty good idea if someone is capable of operating a vehicle. This cop was just bullying him, and deserves to be reprimanded.

Do you honestly believe that? Obama just used promises like that to get teens to support him. He is just like any of the other puppets presidents. Look at how all of his actions as president so far have been practically identical to Bush's. He is doing bailouts, throwing money at rich CEOs (and by extension, promoting socialism. Why should we give our money to these people who make hundreds of thousands more than we do just because they made some bad business decisions?), and is doing nothing to give back all of the civil liberties that Bush took away.

Well the only civil liberty I really want is to smoke pot....in the same bars, public events, that alcohol is consumed:) Or we should outlaw both, but not one or the other.

You want to talk about unfair harrassment from cops, try being a skateboarder :/

Anyway, there's cool cops in this world that do the right thing, and actually try to make a difference, and treat you like an equal human being. Then there's the power hungry pricks that will abuse their status and talk down to everyone around. And there could be a murder happening right in front of them, but if it's their coffee break they'll just sit there like a log and do nothing. Or pull you over and harrass you for no reason. Just one of those things you have to deal with, there's not too much you can do I think. Although it can be quite rewarding when you AREN'T doing anything wrong, and they swear they've got you on something, but you're all good and it's just like "do your worst cop". Then that's when they plant drugs on you. :(

No, not really. He really is doing the best that he can do, and though he has not implimented everything he has said thus far, he is doing a F*CK load better than Bush. He is giving bailouts because we are f*cked if we don't at the moment. However, if we legalize pot, we WILL have money to throw around (if pot was taxed). We would be making bank. So yeah I honestly believe he will, and not for teens to support him. He will legalize it in the sense that everyone will have to have a medical license for it. So you can't just go to the stop and pick some up, you need a license. This is already implimented in like.. what 14 states already? It's only a matter of time before almost all states take it up.

    Tell me about it... :(

I told people that after the election, tbqh.

People were too busy patting themselves on the back for electing a black president. I agree that it shows how far we have come as a nation as far as the issue of race is concerned. But let's not fool ourselves here. We've replaced a Republican with a Democrat, and we do that, and the opposite, all the friggin' time and NOTHING significant EVER changes.

When we turn our backs on the myth of the two party system, throw middle fingers in the air and tell the elephants and the donkeys to sit on them and take 'em for a spin and elect a candidate who is not beholden to the political square dance of constantly shifting Republican and Democrat view points (which, quite honestly, on the stuff that actually matters to EVERYONE, like foreign and economic policy, are not that far apart) then I'll join in on the back patting. Until then, I maintain my cynical outlook on electing just another party politician.

I'm sorry, but I can't believe you honestly think he will legalize pot. It's probably the dumbest thing a politician in the US could do. He would get so much sh!t for it and lose SO much respect. It's not just about us smokers you know, there are a so many more people who oppose it and would rather it remain illegal.

And imho, I think marijuana is one of the dumbest things to be doing as a teenager (I unfortunately have done it daily this past year as a sophomore in high school, and just now have I begun to stop). You can say all you want about how harmless it is, cause that's not true. There have been so many times where I wish I never started it because I'm not the same as I was before. I've seen what its done to my friends and how dramatically its changed everyone's lives. Just drink if anything, but don't drive ;) just my 2 cents.

And holding you for over an hour was excessive.

Maybe it's because I'm a minority (Latino) but I almost always tend to treat cops like friggin' gods without laying it on too thick (they get suspicious) because, y'know, I tend to always fit the description of a suspect.
