It certainly wears its influences on its sleeve (I literally squealed at the transition effect/sound), but it does so while managing to be its own thing entirely. While I think the invisible areas for moving left and right may be a little too large on iPhone XS, there wasn't a second before my brain had adjusted to having to make larger motions. Don't worry though, it's not like it has any effect on your ability to maneuver and I'm sure bringing this up (and discussing it further once y'all have tried this out) will allow the developer to tweak the controls if it's a valid issue. Remember, if you're having issues moving in your intended direction, just push your thumb in/out a little further. Oh, and @macplash, you'll be glad to know that while it doesn't play at 60fps, it doesn't feel laggy/clunky like that Neutronized game we had issues with. I have to say...gotta commend the developer on the banter between Dadish and his radishes/other characters. It absolutely makes the game for me and straddles that incredibly thin line between being adorable, self-depreciating and meta. I can only imagine the disaster it could've been from an ESL developer. Love it, love it, love it. Do check this one out guys. It's free to play with ads or a single $3 IAP to get rid of them...and no other nonsense whatsoever involved. EDIT: Okay, the farther I get, the more the controls start to get problematic. Not game-breaking but enough to get you to lose a few times. ste86uk and macplash like this. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #4 macplash, Feb 12, 2020 Don’t even remind me! I’m still having nightmares about that one. Anyway, considering all that praise you wrote about this one I’m definitely in! I’d probably be interested just by the trailer itself, but reading all those superlatives makes it much easier. Just one look and it’s fairly obvious a lot of love and effort were put into making this game. That’s something I can easily appreciate. Let’s have a blast with it! metalcasket likes this. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #5 metalcasket, Feb 12, 2020 Okay, yeah, that was the perfect 3-4 hour experience. The last set of levels may go down in history as my favorite iOS platforming levels. Absolutely worth the measly $3, considering how annoying repeated ads would have been with repeated deaths later in the game. Even with my praise, I have to reiterate that the controls NEED to be tweaked. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve died in the most ridiculous, unintended scenarios in the back half of the game. I guess they’re made with the intention of you lifting your thumb when you want to change direction rather than sliding across. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,127 703 113 #6 anthony78, Feb 12, 2020 Controls are a deal breaker for me with this. Especially after double jumping and going the opposite of intended direction. Too many other games like this that do it better. Deleted. Controls can be patched though and I enjoy everything else about the game so I’ll probably just hold off until it’s fixed then continue playing psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,966 718 113 England #8 psj3809, Feb 12, 2020 Yeah same here. It’s very strange and I’ve never seen anything like it. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #11 metalcasket, Feb 12, 2020 Absolutely. It's bizarre. 99% of the time you put your thumb back down it'll spin you in the direction you don't want to go. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #12 macplash, Feb 12, 2020 I guess I’m not far enough to actually have any issues with precise controls (or their lack of), because so far so good for me. I’m lifting my left thumb instinctively instead of sliding for now. The bigger issue than controls is the difficulty. It’s kinda tough for my taste. Being a casual player I don’t see myself finishing it at all. But, as a dad-radish I understand my kids need me (even though some have quite an attitude, right?) so I’m not gonna give up that easily. The graphics are beautiful and the controls are perfectly fine, sure they could do with some tweaking as I’ve gone in the wrong direction a couple of times but not much at all and certainly haven’t gotten frustrated by it. But I can’t help feeling like the payment model is maybe too generous? With all these f2p games I’m so use to adverts and the ones on this game hardly ever come up really....so even though I want to support the dev which I like to do for games I enjoy even free ones I feel like I don’t even really need to pay to remove the ads to enjoy the game. I’ll probably still do it to support the game but I guess most people wouldn’t? I think it works better for me when a dev lets you play so much in a game and then you can purchase the rest of the game if your enjoying it. idislikejordan Well-Known Member Jan 7, 2018 78 24 8 #19 idislikejordan, Feb 17, 2020 OMG, I absolutely love this.
