@djflippy - This looks like it could be really cool to learn about a lot of historical or other wise important sites in areas that you live or visit... Have you tried it? Does it work well? I guess for large cities it probably has lots of information on all their big happenings - I wonder how well it does for medium sized or smaller areas? Just curious - the premise is intriguing.
Yeah, I have tried it. I live in Orange County and there are quite a few interesting locations, particularly for the elements you mentioned. The notes along the bottom make sense from a clear layout perspective, but make it feel less like Augmented Reality, since they aren't pinned on both axes. It will probably nearly blank for small towns; maybe like a library or something. [app]Yelp[/app] already does it for free o the 3GS, if you want to just check out the functionality. I predict that there will be tons of these apps coming out, so it will be fun to see has the best implementation.
