Guess we we all were wrong. Cube really was a beta version and the developers are coming up with a much more powerful game than cube. cube 2: Sauerbraten!! Check this out http://www.cubeengine.com/
This really isn't the place to post this, as it has nothing to do with the game "Cube." You should make a thread discussing this. But, just because I'm slightly interested, I'd definitely get it but only if it was a low price (around $2-3 sounds good). I already have the game in real life, but this seems more convenient. I'm mostly worried about price on this, though... Most board games seem to be $5-10.
You can read the description of cube in the appstore. The dev says that cube 2 will be coming to iphone
I dunno. Cube 1 looked more like a tech demo than full game. I get a feeling that the developer is hoping to license out his engine like ID Software licensed their Quake engine. No bad thing, just wished that there could be more meat and optimisation on the game mechanics.
The dev is working on the bugs in cube for the next update. Yes, cube is just a tech demo. It is a proof of concept. Sauerbraten (the cube 2 engine) is much more scaleable than the 1st cube engine so should run better. @Everydaynormalguy: Don't judge it by it's name. It is actually very good fun (I have it on my computer).
No, he says: "Furthermore we encourage people to check out the newest version of Cube - Cube 2: Sauerbraten - a far more powerful and modern version." Of course he speaks about the PC version! So I think this thread is based on a misunderstanding.
Sorry my friend but you are mistaken "I'm one of the part-time developers of the Sauerbraten (Cube 2) fps, and while I sorely wanted to port Sauerbraten, I've decided in the short-term to compromise and port the original Cube instead." Thats right off the devs website http://fernlightning.com/doku.php?id=iphone:cube:start
im not even sure what you just said, but the dev wants to port cube 2 sauerbraten to the iphone, he settled for cube instead of cube 2, but he wants to port cube 2, so this thread is not based on a misunderstanding, cube 2 is possibly going to be brought to the iphone, that is if the dev accomplishes what he wants to accomplish
Hm.. I agree that the developer would have preferred to port cube2. And although I am hoping for a cube2-port as well, the information given makes a port not really likely... seems to be a statement for some future plans quite far ahead, especially if the dev is working on updates for cube for the next 4 weeks at least.. ?? thats only what i surmised! I guess we'll see.. Greetings, Pug
i guess i can agree with that, but non the less the dev would like to see cube 2 on the iphone so maybe it'll happen, personally dont care though cuz once you get the hang of cube its really fun, skill level 1 on the dmsp maps equals fun fun fun
I have played the game ever since I saw it on this post and it is BRILLIANT! The editor is simple fantastic, being able to quickly scale buildings and add detail and without needing to know any coding or specialised knowledge at all, its unbelievably simple when you know the buttons and processes and I highly recommend anyone to try it at least. Plus the RPG game using Cube 2 looks very promising as well
