It's Photoshop. What do you expect from as big a name as Photoshop? Even if it weren't any good, what would you get besides Photoshop?

Yes, it's good. I upgraded to CS5 from CS3 and it seems to be more user friendly.

Gimp in all honestly is great as freeware, but it'd be crap if you had to pay any more than $15 for it. It doesn't hold a candle to Photoshop, and I'm surprised even you would mention it.

    Elements?

I've got CS4 and Elements 7, I'll either wait til my friend's mom gives it to me again, or I'll pass.

Elements is still Photoshop. Pretty good, too, considering how much cheaper it is.

I've got CS2. What major new features does CS4/5 have? Is it worth the upgrade/purchase? Can it even be upgraded?

Jesus. Content-aware fill is legendary. It takes problems I've poured countless hours into over the past 8 years or so and just pwns them in seconds.

Oh, and painting onto 3D objects is awesome too.

Jesus, CS2? Damn you need an upgrade. I haven't really used CS5 that much since I got it but it seems overall improved with a lot of cool new features. I was excited about this though because the pack I got has After Effects so I'm hoping to mess around with that a bit.
