Even though the controls were an attempt to be different from the tons of lane change dodge car games out there, I would say that an option to drive straight would still be very viable as this game is so original in terms of looks and overall presentation. Or maybe set up three different modes with leaderboards for each. 1. Free relative touch mode 2. Drunk mode (the current one lol) 3. "Runner" lane change mode Just my two cents. I played this a lot during beta as well and I just didn't get any better at it. And like the dev said, replayability will definitely be increased with more options.
I like the wild style of driving. Like I'm asleep or drunk. But I would love if the $2.99 IAP to remove ads actually worked. Paid for that today and the ads are still popping up between rounds. I'll keep an eye on here to see when it gets resolved. Other than that this game is great! Nice to see something original in racing.
Agreed opposite of what cruise control implies. The controls are driving me bonkers. Add me to list for having option to drive straight. Leaving for now.
No cruise control is where you take your foot off the gas and the car goes on its own. That's what this game does. At first I myself hated the controls. If you go look at the beta thread you will see the discussions that went back and forth. I and others asked to have them made tighter. Everytime the devs listened. I actually have come to like cruise controlling drunk lol. And after a while you will find yourself weaving in and out of traffic on a dime. Did you know if you tap really fast you can do full 360 degree turns? I bet you didn't. Now you do. There is actually a lot of fun and flexibility with just a single tap. Why have a boring lane change game that's been done so many times already? So again I ask that you stick with it and learn to actually have fun with it. Perhaps the devs would be open to putting other schemes in the game. That wouldn't be a bad thing as I do believe giving players a choice is always the way to go. But to write the game off isn't the way to go either. It really is a good game with a dedicated development team who listened to me complain and go at them when I did t like something. That's why it was a no brainier for me to spend my money on this game and give it a well deserved 5 star review. Billy
I submitted version 1.5.1 to the App Store last night. Fixes some bugs and changes pricing on upgrades. We will be adding option control schemes in. If you find the current controls too hard to master. There is hope for you yet! An update on the achievements points. Unfortunately I am unable to adjust the points on them. I can however add a second achievement that has more points. If this is something anyone wants let me know and I will put in the next update.
We're doing a livestream right now if anyone wants to check it out! http://www.mobcrush.com/cruisecontrol
Thanks again! I really appreciate the quick response. Still playing. But looking forward to the ads going bye bye.
Devs, Quick question, you said you lowered the prices of upgrades. Will upgrades already done be pro rated? For instance I've already put 1500 coins into the magnet. Will it go to the appropriate level post update? Billy
The levels have not changed. Instead the pricing has changed. It will start off cheaper and only start costing a ton when you are closer to maxing it out. If this does not feel correct still. We will adjust the levels too.
I've already paid. So will it adjust for what I've already paid based on the new cost? I've worked hard for those coins. I just don't want to lose out on them. Billy
Hold up on that. You need to read Apples Dev stuff. I know two developers that have done this to then have to completely remove the system because the promo codes offer a currency outside of the use of the AppStore. Check out DarkSword. They just had to remove their entire promo code system and disable it because of it. I'm trying to save you time and a massive headache. Billy
Thanks for the heads up. We've been investigating that, I think it depends how you use them. Definitely going to have to be careful with how it's implemented. It can't overlap with the IAP. If it's only for coins I think we will be okay, since those aren't sold as an IAP. For now, we will set the next version to refund the upgrades at the previous price so you can reupgrade at the new rates. We've been working on testing some other steering modes as well today. Right now we have tap and hold steering working. You can also tap either side of the car to turn, similar to how it works already.
We have reworked it so now when you install the new version you will be refund for all your past upgrades and they will be removed. You will need to upgrade again, but no coins will be lost! Thanks for point out that. Here is the new steering mode that is being added in. You can drive straight for those who think they need to. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel I am not exactly used to this steering method yet.
This game is choice Raw 80s Styles and effects that look so Cluuuuuutch! Sick soundtrack that fits so well I never mute it. A righteous control scheme that actual takes skill to master drifting in and out of traffic ahhhhh.........what a rush! I can say this game is legit! Great work devs 5 stars keep up the good work!
Awesome! Just awesome! The video looked interesting. I see you can go into a straight like. How does it work? I love how you guys are incorporating feedback. Billy
