Cute and goofy so far. Interesting how the new stuff is mixed in. What they've apparently done is now each each map area/chapter has its own portal to the land of the undead which in turn is just another map of battles and locations to search until you hit the exit that returns you right back to where you left off in the regular world. The undead guys I've seen so far are fun with some novel twists but nothing too nasty so far in the first couple of regions of an Easy game with 3 3-7 leveled heroes.
Nope, not clear yet how that aspect is introduced, but I have unlocked the new druid hero. I've only played with her base form so far and she's pretty unique. Spoiler She starts off with a LOT of hp (12 at first level), but there's a very odd catch, every time she attacks she loses 1 hp. Her active ability is to convert the next enemy attack to hit her into 2 points of healing. Her base attack does some pretty decnet damage right off ao it is a trocky juggling act trying to determine when best to attack and when it might be best for her to hopefully draw enemy fire.
I'm itching for this to come to iPhone 6+. The ipa trick gets it running on there and it looks fine, but the saves don't work. Really really want this on my "actually really is portable device".
So, i saw the video and comparisons to FFTactics mixed with roguelike, just a couple of questions : 1) have all the bugs mentioned at the first pages of the forum been fixed now? 2) Does this have a time limit to fail your quest? The "Before time runs out" at the description scares me off. 3) How is the structure of this game? you lose a battle, die, keep your stats/ items/ things and start from the beginning? or what?
Yes, I haven't encountered any major bugs since the big fix update. You get a different ending if you are late, but it's not an outright failure unlike say FTL where the time limit is very strict. On easy mode you keep all your xp and levels, but in normal mode each run starts from scratch in true rogue-like fashion.
Buy now or Luciano will bully you for life. He gave me the atomic wedgie last week for refusing to wipe after a massive bowel movement I also need to buy this game since its on sale
It can be difficult at first (at least on Normal mode), but after you start unlocking new Mercenaries and Tiers it is a lot of fun. Each game can be very different depending on various choices and randomness. I've probably played this for over 80 hours now and highly recommend it!
Note the game has a very basic tutorial - on purpose! Keep at it and slowly discover the best tactics and how to use skills and opportunity attacks which are key to being successful. It's very rewarding.
Lol it's awesome IMO.. I played this game everyday for a month straight.. Learning curve was a bit steep for me and frustration would set in at times but once I got the hang of it I couldn't put it down.. Read the thread and follow the tips.. Play on easy at first, unlock the mercs and their abilities before playing on normal (which in reality is hard)..
Long time lurker coming out in support of the game - it's been nothing but pure fun! This video really helped before I bought and really gets the game across https://youtu.be/IPF9wdImqqs . It shows the gameplay, mechanics and a lot of it helped before I started playing... and the guy just has so much fun playing it I couldn't help but dl. I'm normally bored of RPGs, don't like rogues, rubbish at hex games and give up on all types eventually - this game has had me playing all night and with the great ways it deals with the issues I normally have I've been able to play it like a gaming kid of old. And as a person who's forever saving every 5 mins and going back to last saves it's refreshing to play a game that when I wipe on an unprepared fight (through my own fault) I'm insta hitting New Game without a care in the world and straight back in for more. The sense of achievement at making at further is fantastic. Some maps do feel a little pressured with very little time between fights and I wonder if long term it might need a little more 'something' between them as a relief from the great highs of the fights - the fight mechanics add a ton of fun and variety. But that's only a small thing that crept in last night after nearly 4hrs straight. So much fun. Anyway, a massive well done and huge thanks to the devs for a fantastic game that counters many of my dislikes of the genre(s) in really fun ways, all previous bug fixes (haven't had a single one) and a ridiculously cheap sale! I wish you all the best for the future Fantastic game
Agreed. I'm playing on easy, which simply allows me to keep stats between deaths, and its far from easy pushing on to each succeeding level. Very enoyjable.
