Update out! Also, they have made it clear that getting repeats from the candy machine is expected. If you get a repeat, the text says "try again". It doesn't look like they are "doing anything for repeats". Perhaps they've dialed up the probability of getting a new character? I don't know. (44/53)
Yes, found it. Merry Christmas! Btw, what's the last character? It's like a piggy bank, it costs around $4 and says "earn coins faster" and "not available in the machine". Does it change the coin rate, aside from giving you 1000 coins? EDIT: ok, bought it. It's Uber cool! You get 1000 coins, plus in the game appear some red coins which are worth 5 normal coins, and the videos grant 40 coins. Very well worth the $4 . Btw, I got the fast snail just after updating. Very cool indeed. EDIT 2: got the kiwi! 50/53 EDIT 3: The new secret character looks like a box of the coin presents you get. My guess is that it's unlocked in one of the boxes, which instead of giving you coins gives you the secret character. We'll see...

I found a new feature last night, it will show you three figures that you don't own yet and allow you to try one for a few minutes. Then it will ask you if you want to purchase it for 250 coins. Of course when this happened I did not have 250 coins, now that I do I cannot get it to repeat the offer.
I just decided to do a little statistics on the prize machine. I'm assuming that the probability of drawing any character is completely random, which seems to be true reviewing the thread above. I did the calcs based on the pre-update status, since that's what most people have been working under so far. That is a pool of 48 characters to choose from (since the whale doesn't come from the prize machine, and I've never drawn the initial chicken from the prize machine either). Obtaining Character 2 has a 100% probability of drawing a new. Ch.3 is 97.9%; it should only take 1 pull to get it (with the expected value of 1.02 pulls), and a cumulative 2 pulls (actually 2.02). Ch.4 is 95.8%; 1.04 pulls, cumulative of 3.06. Ch11 is down to 81.2% (1.23 draws) but this is the first time that we are expected to have drawn a duplicate character (cumulative 11.08). Ch.15, at 72.9% (1.37 draws), gives us our second duplicate (cumulative 16.3). It keeps getting more unlikely as we go on. Ch.26 is the 50% probability point; there's an expected 2 draws for a new, and we'll have nearly 10 duplicates at this point. Ch.34 reaches expected 3 draws, with 22 duplicates so far. Ch.38 is the 4 draw point, and 32 duplicates. Ch.41 is at 5.3 draws per win, 43 duplicates. Ch.42 is at 6 draws, 48 duplicates. They keep coming faster and faster... By the time we reach the last character, #49, we are expecting 48 (!!) draws to get a win. On average, a person who has completed their collection at Version 1.0 would have gone to the prize machine 214 times and drawn 166 duplicate characters. I'm strongly thinking about buying that piggy bank now. I also see why no one is saying they have obtained all characters yet. (45/53)
My son says that playing the Celebrity after the update, she sometimes takes a selfie when she dies. I haven't been able to duplicate this myself.
EDIT: Actually, I think that's "buy this character for cash and we'll also give you 250 coins". My son got that, I haven't yet. I believe it isn't a coin-based purchase. So, has anyone found the way to get the new secret character? It seems that it has something to do with the free gift or with the chicken, because if you pay attention to the silhouette, the bottom part resembles to a chicken's legs and the top part resembles a free gift
I'm expecting that there'll be a gift box sitting in a grassy area while you play. Second possibility is a truck with a gift box on the side, run into the truck to unlock it.
i got the initial chicken a few times actually.. and i the whale i found in the water but thats on my ipad.. havent seen him since. great game guys i love it!
My penguin does this as well, sometimes. Now it's my goal to save all the deaths of my favourites, lol. It's brilliant, well done devs for making such a great and humourous game! Going to purchase some characters when I have the funds.
