EDIT: there are many languages available in the options menu. Cool! EDIT 2: there's an important problem with the Spanish version: it doesn't recognize many words which should be recognized. @Devs: the problem has to do with the accents. You're importing words from a dictionary and you're not taking into account that there are many words in Spanish which have an accent. For example, it doesn't accept "veais" (a tense from the verb "see") because the correct spelling is "veáis". Unfortunately, vowels with accents don't fall in the game. The solution for this is really simple: get the list of Spanish words you've used in the game and substitute all the "á" for "a", "é" for "e", etc. We only have accents in vowels. It's perfectly acceptable for Spanish speakers to write them in capital letters without the accent, and I'm sure you are going to have many complaints from Spaniards because of this. I'm sending you a PM too with this, to make sure you read it. adz4u28 Member Mar 14, 2014 15 0 0 #5 adz4u28, May 22, 2014 Where is the ipad version? Re the iPad - if it's a popular game then we'll make an iPad version too. We'll make it universal actually. codename_w Member Feb 10, 2014 12 0 0 #8 codename_w, May 22, 2014 Is that guy asking for accents to fall ? Lol. "Veais" is not accepted but "veas" is , a most common use of the same thing. lot of word games won't normally accept the "jugais caminais veais" wording. What's up with the H flooding ? It's like 40% H's everytime negitoro Well-Known Member Apr 7, 2011 57 0 0 #9 negitoro, May 23, 2014 The game itself is an interesting idea and I'm having a good time but I think the actual act of forming the words is a little bit tough at times. I think it's the fact the tiles move around but sometimes I find myself being unable to add the letter as easily as I expect or adding an incorrect letter. Deleting letters from a word is also tough because the letters are neither in a group nor remain in the same place so deleting a few letters off the end of a long word is tough. Overall though, it's a fun word game for sure. By the way, why does the music sound so familiar? VirtualBoyFreak Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Apr 26, 2011 4,801 85 48 Spain #10 VirtualBoyFreak, May 23, 2014 "Veas" is not the same as "veais", not at all ("veas" is 2nd person singular and "veais" is 2nd person plural, in case you wonder) and there are many, many words not accepted because of the accent issue. Whenever we have word games, we don't take accents into account unless you can have vowels with accents and without accents. Take "Angry Words" as an example. It would be a boring game if we couldn't put words leaving accents aside. You can try "tiburón" (shark) as a better example of a very common word which the game should accept but doesn't because of this. That many word games don't accept accent words doesn't mean they are correct. In fact, 20 years ago capital letter words were accepted without accents because typing machines didn't have a way of putting accents. Therefore, in a few words, yes, I'm asking for accent removal in the game dictionary so that it accepts all the words and makes the game more interesting. Pm23 Member Mar 3, 2013 7 0 0 #11 Pm23, May 23, 2014 Also doesn't seem to use the actual Scrabble dictionary (i.e. it wouldn't accept Qat) which seems a strange decision. Agree about the finicky nature of selecting and deselecting letters too. Also, the word submit button in the bottom right corner seems way too small to use quickly on an iPhone. Interesting idea but definitely needs some finessing. laszlo_kovacs Well-Known Member Sep 26, 2012 205 0 0 #12 laszlo_kovacs, May 23, 2014 Got so excited with the review. A good word game will last me ages, but this is not one for me. The control method really gets in the way, and I feel like if you're not bringing something new and creative to the genre, then flawless execution is necessary (especially if fast-paced). At free, don't let me discourage you from trying it if you love word games, because I'm extremely selective and after all this time still only keep Puzzlejuice and Letterpress on my devices. MetaGonzo Well-Known Member May 7, 2009 1,459 271 83 #13 MetaGonzo, May 23, 2014 Am I right in thinking that you have to reach 10 to even get the unlock option? I'd happily just pay from a menu to unlock a more chilled out mode but after my 15 hour shift, my brain is just too frazzled. Am I missing something? Also; what to grey cubes do? By the the time I get there I'm tapping so frequently that I accidentally skip the description. EGVroom Well-Known Member Mar 13, 2014 187 0 16 #14 EGVroom, May 23, 2014 Long day here too folks. Thanks for all the comments. We're delighted so far. This is v1 remember. More to come The grey tiles are just blockers by the way. They just get in the way. You can blow them up with bombs. There's actually many different tile types. They arrive as you progress through levels. Thanks for playing! MetaGonzo Well-Known Member May 7, 2009 1,459 271 83 #15 MetaGonzo, May 23, 2014 Ahem. Congrats on the glowing review! While the game is fun, I'm sometimes having issues hitting the correct letters with my fat fingers, or accidentally unselecting them. When it's a race against time, this makes the game tough and it can be frustrating when it feels like it's less "user error" and more an interface-issue that's causing that. Maybe it'd be easier on a bigger-screen iPad? I'd like to see a dedicated stats section, though I do see them running at the bottom of the screen, I think word games cry out for keeping track of that kind of thing! Also, once you're done with a game, it looks like the only option is to try again rather than return to the menu. Overall I think this is pretty cool and with potential to improve. Up to level 51 now -- it's getting tough! EGVroom Well-Known Member Mar 13, 2014 187 0 16 #19 EGVroom, May 23, 2014 Hi Fiskadoro! Firstly! Thanks for playing. I changed the size of the tiles many many times during development to make selection easier. Too big and it breaks the game but too small and it's too hard to select. It was a balancing act. After hundreds of playtesting hours with players of all finger sizes I settled on 44 pixels. That's actually the size apple recommends for buttons too. Bit of a long explanation but it is something we tested loads. Like you say an iPad version would make it a lot easier of course. Until we make one If you have an iPad you can run the iPhone version there and it will be zoomed btw. Again! Thanks for playing. robdabank New Member May 11, 2012 3 0 1 #20 robdabank, May 24, 2014 So no instructions on how to play? Delete (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
