For some reason it doesnt work for me Neither the amulet nor the wizard aura is restoring anything for my poor Henson QQ.
I would like to express our deep appreciation to all game fans who shared their suggestions, ideas and emotions in this thread! THANKS! It would be great if you can do the same on the game official Fan Page - http://www.facebook.com/CrimsonGemSaga Just copy+paste what you write here into a discussion on FB, feel free to create a one. There are people among FB Fan Page fans who never played Crimson Gem Saga before and your help will be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance!
Really can't work out if this game is worth playing before the main bugs are fixed or worth waiting for the update before purchasing... Jamie
Not as of yet, though they might announce that later on. It's been like a week (or less?) since release, you can't expect them to fix absolutely everything in one update in that time.
Huh? After 15 minutes of play, I had no problems with the menu system and I haven't encountered most of the bugs mentioned. Besides - this is not a 8mb game. This has a gigantic engine and loads of content. Comparing this fact to most other games, Crimson Gem Saga has a surprisingly SMALL ammount of bugs. I've seen a bunch of 15mb games which were ten times more bug-ridden than CGS. And I am absolutely sure that the devs will listen to their customers and take care of everything criticised.
in this price class, no autosave, a menu sytsem which does not work well are not really acceptable. i'm also positive that none of you're 15 mb games cost anything like this. my point is not that you cannot work round the problems, but at this price you should not have to !
I understand your opinions, nonetheless are these bugs no big issues for me. You're also correct that a customer can claim to get a bug-free, good working game. But do you really think that riding around (again and again) on the fact that you're having problems changes anything? Or do you just love to complain? Maybe it would be better to simply wait for the bugfix? About the pricing point: it's just 10 bucks for 50+ hours of content. PSP is about 30 bucks. Some PC games were at 60-70 bucks and had more bugs than anything else. If you complain about 10 bucks for an iPhone game, I don't dare thinking about what you would do if you buy a PC game for 60 bucks which is bug-ridden. And again: the devs already stated in this forum that they will take care of the negative issues.
here's my 2 cents after playing more hours than I care to admit. Yes, I love this game. The menu system works fine. Just get used to flicking with your finger and you won't really have any issues. (Yes, yes, the menu for upgrading skills is still a mess but you only upgrade every once in a while.) For me it's all about the little things. The random items and $ when hunting around town. Or like last night, I was hunting for hidden stuff and fell down a well/cave and ended up being taken to a much harder area with creatures I wasn't completely ready for. Nice. It's little surprises like that, that keep me playing. Oh, and for those who want auto save. Yes it might be nice, but just get used to saving often. Personally i keep 2 saves. One while i'm exploring and another older one in case I need to back track.
Let me quote draxx here because I think he sums it up better than anyone: Basically, if you can get to the point that draxx describes here, this is the fullest, most enjoyable RPG on the platform. All the other issues you've read about here are minor (unless you are looking for that "perfect playthrough.") If you can't get used to the menus, then you'll be like soup here and curse me for recommending the game in the first place . Which reminds me, here's an example of what Vovin is talking about: Zenonia 2, which releases at $6.99, shipped with a character-killing bug that would surface about 5-7 hours into the gameplay. As to the PC/console side of things, go to GameSpot and do a search for "bugs."
CGS dev is rather upstanding, he could've just ignored these complaints but he's listening and getting the things fixed. Excellent PR and one that is nice to see from a non-indie dev / publishing team. A lot of great rpg games for the psp have atrocious menu systems -- iphone gamers are so spoilt , at least they can have the game fixed through patches. You gotta live with what you get in psp games. And psp games more expensive. Complaining about swiping and flicking, can't imagine if these complainers had to press a few buttons to get to the choices they want, their heads will probably explode.
Did you read what Ravenblack wrote about Crimson Gem Saga elsewhere? I quote it for absolute truth: edit: oops, now Ravenblack wrote it here, too... Was a little faster than me...
