How's the learning curve? Are there too many elements and concepts that make this game difficult to learn? Or is it quite easy to learn and enjoy? Has/have there been any stage(s) during the game where you've been completely stuck and not able to progress without asking somebody or looking up a guide? Because I'm not going to have Internet access for the next few days, and I wouldn't want to get stuck and not be able to move on.
Yes, CGS needs a huge amount of RAM. But I am 7+ hours in the game, got used pretty good to the controls and have YET to encounter a crash! No freeze or crash for me. I save before entering a new map, a cutscene or after a hard encounter. Thats enough for me.
any news on when the update will be live? i want to play the game now but i'm not willing to download 400 mb now and download the update after some days of play
Same here -- this has been one of the most stable "big" games I've played on the platform. The only problem I've had is that a few times when I've put the device to sleep using the top button then woken it up again, the game has come up without sound effects (yet the music and dialogue are on). Quitting and starting again fixed that right away. @Random Guy: like most JRPG's the basics are easy to learn, but there's a heck of a lot that you are meant to discover as you play. One challenge is that (like FF) there's no mapping inside the dungeons; the one in chapter 2 was confusing to me, I ended up looking up a map online. But I didn't get there until about 9 hours of gameplay, so that may not be an issue over a weekend.
Has anyone purchased the beastly compendium? Does it list the strengths & weakness of all the enemies, & is it worth buying??
If you're referring to the letters, those are the elements that the weapon contains: Fire, Ice, Wind, Lightning, Holy and Darkness. Some monsters are more resistant or weak to some elements than others.
It shows the monster's level, strength and weakness. The medallion bug seems to be for all medallions, not just bronze. I couldn't get out of the menu when I used silver and gold medallions. For example, I have 2 gold medallions but only 1 skill in the entire party that can be upgraded to lvl 4. When I use it I will get stuck in that menu, only being able to switch between Killian and Spinel. Pressing elsewhere on the screen gives a 'ding' sound. Haven't tried it with a platinum medallion, only had 1, but it will most likely be the same. Hope this will get fixed in an update. And a quicksave button would also be useful *EDIT: seems like it doesn't matter if you have skills that can be upgraded to a higher level. When you upgrade and move to a different character, it gets stuck between Killian and Spinel and you can't exit the menu.
Did you try touching the status bar on the bottom? That worked for me with the silver and plantinum medallion.
I just experienced the bug using killians heal spell. It's the fist time it's happened to me using a spell. Basically I was between battles, trying to heal a few members of the group & it got stuck between Killian and Spinel, just like using the medallion. I had to use all of Killians MP then I was able to back out of the menu.
This bug has been hitting me 100% repro every time I use anybody's heal spell between turns. Basically, if you heal someone other than Killian or Spinel, you're fine. Once you heal either of the 2 culprits, you're stuck in the loop and you have to use up all your MP before you can get out of the menu. Dear developer: Please fix, yeah?
So, sometime there's a crown above the character's head after combat, what does it mean? I can't figure it out...
Just tried exactly the same thing (used Killians heal spell on Spinel) and it worked fine for me -- I was able to leave the menu without a problem. Not sure what's going with those who are getting stuck.
Yeah I tried that, doesn't work for me. Now I just learn new skills so I can upgrade them till I use up my medallions . *SPOILER BELOW* Has anyone reached Inverse Babel (B10)? I can't defeat the boss. Every time he's down to 50% HP he heals 22500HP -_- Walkthrough on gamefaqs isn't much help. My party is Killian (lvl83), Gelts (lvl82), Lahduk (lvl83) and Acelora (lvl97). Should I grind till they're all lvl99?
That character did the most damage and receives the most exp. EDIT Healing spell works fine for me. Never experienced any crashes, only the medallion bug
Free restore HP and MP When pass by GANELLON VILLAGE of LATEIN DESERT, the inn is not open so that you cannot recover the HP and MP... but I found a screct tunnel where lead you to a fruit tree where you can fully recover all parties' HP & MP. Sweet, just stick there and do training for no cost.
I like how this game promotes exploration. In towns and stuff, go everywhere, there's usually something to find in houses, whether it's gold, items or sometimes sidequests. And do the occasional wall-hugging along the sides too, there's some secrets there.
It's only happened a couple times for me. It just happened again while using Gelts. Kinda strange Edit: ok, so apparently the bug only affects the "quick fix" skill and not "Heal".
