How about choosing fixed D-Pad, you nitwit (sorry, you started with the insults)? If it takes you fifteen minutes to buy anything in the store, I suggest you put down the buttered popcorn and clean your screen.
Ok, i may have overlooked the d-pad settings (which is easy enough to overlook) so i apologise for that aswell as me being insulting. However you can not deny that the menu's are way, way, way over sensative. It makes the whole game extremely fustrating as you use the menu's so often.
Well it's the only option in the options page, so it's pretty hard to miss. Speaking of options, there should probably be more than just the control scheme (namely, SFX/music volume settings). Also, for your menu problem, I think you posted right after me, so you may have missed it, but I posted a work-around that might help. It reduced the hassle of menus for me a lot when I figured it out.
Couldn't agree more! My only gripes as well. I wish the d-pad wasn't so jumpy. Regardless...I am a VERY satisfied customer and can't put Crimson Gem Saga down.
Apology accepted (and I apologize myself about the nitwit comment). Whenever I have a control problem I always go first to the options menu to see if there's an alternative way. I agree that the menu controls are too sensitive. I've been using Edukus' suggestion since about the first hour of play, and that has made a big difference. But you're absolutely right about that. That, to me, does not equal terrible port, however (again, I offer Zenonia 2 as an example). It means that there's something to be fixed in an update. Luckily, Nate Games has a good track record of updating their games.
In his defense, once you are playing the game there is no way to get back to the options without exiting to the title screen which is probably why he didn't notice it. There is also a "third" control scheme: When you have the fixed dpad enabled you can touch near the screens edge to walk in that direction
The floating d-pad is kinda weird, it doesn't stick in place like it should do, so you're basically better off using the fixed one. I guess I'll put this down to rushed parts of porting development. Hopefully it's fixed in an update so it works like Chaos Ring's does. Oh, hadn't realised that. Usually the first thing I do when I start a new game (any game) is go to the options section, for some reason.
Well hopefully they update the controls then. It is a good rpg, im just getting realy fustrated with it.
Edit to Original Post Just wanted to let everyone know I added some text to the original post. "The Dev has come up with a way to keep fans updated with what happens with the game on the App Store and had the idea for fans to post screenshots with the game moments they have problems with on the game's Official Fan Page http://www.facebook.com/CrimsonGemSaga. Technically you send it over email from your device and then they put it on the fan page to resolve their problems. " So if you have an issue with the game please make sure to let them know about it. Clearly the devs are serious about taking care of all the issues they come across.
Any word from the dev on an iPad version? I really want to purchase this, the more you guys talk about it, the closer I get to hitting the buy button. The only thing holding me back, is wondering about an iPad/HD version being released in a few weeks.
This has been asked a few times and the answer is that the chances are very slim. This game is a port by a third party so an HD version would mean that the original dev would have to create all new art. Several people have posted about how good the game looks in 2x on an ipad so IMHO you should pick it up and get to enjoying
I suppose it's better that people are complaining about technical issues rather than the game itself. Not that technical issues are any good, mind you.
Hello everyone... Thank you for letting our fans know @VeganTnT!!! - much appreciate that. We are looking over your thoughts and comments and will be fixing a few things for the next version. The Bronze Medallion problem noted - thank you. Please stay involved and tell us more. That way we can collectively improve this great game. Cheers!
No, but it's nice to know that the devs are active on the Facebook page and are serious about the game. Witch gives me hope that all these technical issues will be addressed. Edit: Hmm, and now apparently active on TA
You just made my day! Thanks! It's good to know the issues are being looking into. -Needs multitasking via fast app switching. Big issue for me. Hard to play a 30 hour game that can get cut off without saving if I take a call. -Controls could use some serious work. Ability to place/size the d-pad and other UI buttons would be great! -Inventory controls could use a little work -Retina display support would be great.
Yay! I love developers who care. A little warning though: Many iDevice users, for some reason, believe every game should have every feature ever conceived. At most, Crimson Gem Saga could benefit from some control and interface tweaks, and a few bug fixes. Aside from that, the game is great as it is. Congratulations on an excellent release.
Addition to the OP Chuck reminded me of the video he posted earlier today showing how the battles work and some voiceovers. I put it in the OP so people can check it out, also of note is that it was done on an ipad so you lucky ipad owners can get a good idea of how the game scales
