Hey, we wanted to see what you guys think we should call our game. Right now we are using 'Crazy Snowboard', but it has been suggested that it doesn't properly represent the game. The game is quite different to our other 'Crazy' novelty apps (like Crazy Lighter, Crazy Chainsaw, Crazy Disco) - it has 30 missions, 13 animated characters, 16 assignable tricks/grabs that you unlock as you earn points. What do you think?

(if you choose 'other', let us know what you'd suggest -- promo codes up for grabs to names we like!)

I don't think you should use "crazy" because I don't think it's good branding. From a marketing standpoint, you want to create differentiated products, and the reason for that is if one fails, then the others won't be negatively impacted. Sure, you can argue the other point "what if it succeeds", but I tend to counsel staying away from that since it can be limiting.

How about Snow King, Snowboard Master, King of the Slopes, Snow Surfer?

Slope riders? I got nothing. Still, anything would be better than Crazy Snowboard (besides isnowboard)

    Extreme Snowboarding

Close to one of the poll options, but the "ing" at the end is better.

Hmm...even something like Crazy Boarders would work. Or you could go for a name like Sway or Edge or Skate and just call it "Snow". Or "Snowy Summit"...King of the Slopes? Hm. In any event I haven't seen a single rock or tree or crevass in the game so I think more interesting courses are in order if i'm going to purchase ;)

Oh wow by the time i submitted that someone had already said King of the Slopes. Yeah my suggestion is just a one word game like Snow or Powder

If you're going with the "i" in the title, iBoard would be an option.

I went for Extreme Snowboard, the name isn't a huge difference and stays well with the original title.

I was shaking my head when I came up with that one. Here I thought you wouldn't like Snow Man :)

Another vote for a simple one-word name, such as the ones suggested above, just not too far, I know I wouldn't want a game called 'Game'. Boarder maybe?

    Here's the way I see it (a customers point-of-view)
Whenever I see an app on a list (say in AppSniper) that is titled "i~~~~" I usually stop to check it out. If the icon is cheap looking, I pass.

The fact of it is, is that when we see an "i" prefix on app names, we think in the back of our head "official" or in more words "this is the snowboard game for the iDevice, because it begins with 'i'". As insane as that sounds, it's actually true. Games like iDracula, iBowl, iMafia... such simple names that take an everyday noun/verb and add the 'i' prefix.
I tend to pass by games that have the words "extreme, xtreme, super, crazy" etc unless I hear the game is good. Typically, these adjective-ridden games cry out 'cliche'.

I say, keep it simple and clean, one word. Even though the 'i' prefix is way way way too overused on garbage titles and apps, it's still a prefix that we've come to recognize and associate with our 'i'Device. So if you think your game should be the flagship snowboarding game of the iDevice, then name it iSnowboard. :)
