Although I will buy this on release, I whish it wouldnt be tap-to-move/attack. I hate covering half of the screen with my hand while playing on my iPad and I'm sure many people do.
However, the gameplay which is shown on YT was a great watch and I bet this game will stay for a long while on my devices.

Oh, it's tap-to-move/attack? I'll probably have to try it before knowing if that will hinder my enjoyment of it. But tap-to-move games usually make me feel a bit disconnected from the character and action. However, being that each game is different, I won't know how this one feels until I buy it and give it a go. It would be cool if there were both control options, though.

Bummer that it's tap-to-move. I was looking forward to this. Whenever I see a game using that control scheme, or tilt (Cavernaught being the exception), or F2P, I don't care to play/purchase.

May have to check that out. Just watched his play through of Tharsis the other day (great game, btw, which belongs on iOS but for which there are no current plans. Zach, if you are reading this, what's the story?)

It wasn't that bad in don't starve. I think it's important to remember that this was a pc game to boot. They're good devs so i wouldn't be surprised if they add a virtual control stick of sorts down the line if it's possible.

Was watching some gameplay on twitch and lo and behold the devs, butterscotch, were in there! Nice guys! Anyways the gameplay looks really fun from what I've seen and has taken away the monotony of managing an inventory system! The crafting looks fun and the way you can track things that you need for building stuff is awesome as well! It looks really polished and one of those games where you want to keep playing to craft that next sword or piece of armor you want to craft! Look forward to the full release next week!

Good luck to the devs and you will have my money next week when it's released! #

Huh? Tharsis is coming to iOS. TA did an article about it a while ago, but even this Polygon article mentions it. Says it released the 12th but I heard something like February for iOS.

    http://www.polygon.com/2016/1/12/10751018/watch-us-play-tharsis-a-trip-to-mars-youre-not-likely-to-survive

Looked good but has been getting awful reviews on PC and PS4.

    Can't wait for Crashlands though!

Nope. When asked last week if Tharsis were coming to iOS, the developer replied, "It may happen down the road, but no plans for it currently!"

Back on topic, Crashlands looks fantastic as expected.

    But-ter-scotch SHENANIGANS!

That's odd. Wonder why the press seems to think otherwise? And since they definitely did plan it at one point, what caused them to change their minds? No matter. Doesn't sound like we're missing much.

I'd much rather have Crashlands. Can't come soon enough!

Add a virtual stick/directional pad please I echo those that say tap to move games just don't cut it.
That's the reason don't starve got deleted from my phone.

I literally JUST tried out don't starve again, deleted it and was coming here to write the exact same thing.... Twilight zone shit.

If not only a virtual stick at least have both tap and vstick options :)

Everything in this game is so highly automated that there's no possible way I could see a virtual stick working. It reminds me of when people would ask for a virtual stick in Tilt to Live, it just wouldn't feel right.

But because everything is so automated, you're only briefly tapping things, so your hand getting in the way isn't an issue. I don't know, it's tough to explain. But if you're a person who will dismiss this game because it doesn't have a virtual control stick and instead utilizes a native and natural feeling control scheme for a touchscreen, well, it's your loss.

Well said. Not to mention that maybe trying it first would also help. Even though it shares the viewpoint of don't starve this will not be anything like it at all.

I'm surprised everyone now is freaking out about not having a v stick. Wasn't that already known months ago? I was a little upset when I heard the news but I'm been over it for a while. I'm sure the game will be awesome either way.

Many seemed to have missed out to watch the gameplay video on TA's YT channel, ye. However, I still dont like touch to move and playing Dont Starve on my PS4 with an controller felt so much better so I dont see any point which speaks against to have the option for an virtual stick around.
Well, we will see how this turns out. I'll buy it as soon as it gets released anyways.

Sad that is only touch to move so I might try and hold off buying it until I see some comments about if it affects the gameplay adversely.
