3 days ago: Just now: Amphion 119876 walewang 119875 Poor walewang he must miss the days when he was still number one
So, are they considered hackers? Or is there a possibility that they figured out some solutions to the few levels that haven't reached 999? Curious because on the original CO, Amphion was one of the hackers - I know because he and six others managed to hit EXACTLY the limit set by FDG (before the last 20 levels). It was fewer points than possible (because I had an old device which could get a lot of 992 scores). I simply held back until the last levels came out. Most of those 7 hackers were higher until FDG adjusted the limit, which confirmed they were hacking. I don't know of any way to have your score knocked off and then suddenly reappear unless you start over - and that would take ages to do. Anyway, recently he suddenly appeared just 2 points above Rapcoon on CO1. And apparently today another person just jumped past Amphion by 4 points (Curva Nord Milano 69). I'm still in first, but remember that for some reason my score keeps disappearing so it is quite possible neither of them ever saw my score. Sooner or later they'll log on and my score will still be there and I bet they both have a sudden score jump.
Yes both came from nowhere our points took us 6 weeks ish to gain and now these two leap frogging each other till they hit max I bit sad really
Yeah, pathetic little people. I wish FDG set up a policy of periodically lowering the limit. I know that knocks off the fake scores and they stay off even if it is raised up afterwards. Sure, they can rehack, but the thing is, if game makers did this regularly, it would at least annoy some hackers enough that they don't bother. And in most cases they can learn who are the hackers over time and just knock them off. But if they aren't sure, they can knock off legit players too - the next time they log in, their scores would reappear anyway. I read someplace after the iOS 7 announcement that it included something that could help with the hacking problem. Don't know what it was, but I hope it is useful.
A friend lend me his iPad4 and in just a couple of minutes I already had the necessary balance for 999 (1-34). Impressive how something impossible on my iPad2 was so easy on the iPad4! Still same 4th position but now not 11 but 10 short of 119880 BTW, I had to re-install the game to make it recognize the cloud data and ask me what to do with it.
Look through it, it seems a little odd. For example, developers can already set score limits. And some of the other stuff also seems to come down to a question of whether a developer takes the time to use the tools. Since a lot don't even set limits, that is not something I'm hopeful about! I hope at least some of the stuff is more automatic though I'm sure nothing will stop all hackers. That would depend on developers taking steps to inconvenience the hackers. But I do like the stuff about being able to ban players. That could mean a number of things though - does it band that Apple ID? That particular player name? The latter can be changed, of course. Still, people tend to get attached to their names so even that is better than nothing. But banning an Apple ID is better and certainly makes things more inconvenient for hackers. I hope they would make it where if a person is banned by multiple game makers, that player is banned from all games. Say three strikes and your out.
Yes, about the limits I thought he same, but this sounds promising: Developers will also now have access to new tools that will help them recognize suspicious activity and to then manage the players accordingly. Cheaters could potentially be blocked should the developer see fit. I read this as tooling to spot "fast climbing" players, the ones that appear out of nowhere. I hope the developers can block players without needing to go through Apple. This I'm wondering about how effective it will be on the short term: With iOS 7, Apple is integrating signed submissions to its Game Center leaderboards ... It had to be done at some point. Currently what I understand the submissions are over plain HTTP so just a simple manipulating proxy in the middle allows to hack a score. But it is too late. Hackers still can use pre-iOS 7 devices. And many games are compatible with devices that not even support iOS 7 (my iPod Gen2 is 4.x and plays rat fishing). So, obviously Apple will need to keep supporting the non-secure submissions to GC In the long run it will help though. The more devices on iOS 7, less script kiddies will be able to do their evil.
Yeah, but you balanced two, right? I only needed to balance one thanks to tips 'n tricks by Shaun (c)
Great game. The amount of good levels you guys keep making is mind blowing. Nice to see one of the pioneers of physics puzzle games (Johnny-k) still doing so well!
Since a while back we were posting our favorite games, I just want to plug Cosmic Mechanic again. So undeservedly unpopular on the appstore. I had serious construction fun with this game (I have no affiliation with the game other than having enjoyed it immensely)
