I always had felt so close to 999, but it needed a little trick (it's all in how you use the spiky ball)

 

Should of asked i could of told you few weeks ago how to do that level 999'ed it on my first run through

 

Ah yeah but what's the fun of that? Now I feel accomplished

Think I can get 998 on 1-34 might need help so who wants to know trick to it ?

No hope for the best part sorry ,mine is solid method unlike cy@ns ,ok here goes :- traditional Method , but set bomb off with first wheel ,

BTW, I did get the 998 by using a slightly modified method. One orange ended up on the small platform protected by the swing arm above. 999 isn't that easy I'm finding out. Seems my 998 was a bit of a lucky shot? Then again, I'm terrible at balancing objects on top of oranges, 2-4 being the proof of that ...
