One of the screenies says 'over 20 specialised vehicles', that's quite a few if they're all different.
I never played smash cops. I'm in! It's downloading now. What sold me was the comment about the cops song playing. Hell yeah lol. Will post my impressions tomorrow. Billy
When I saw this topic, one of the first things I did was play "Bad Boys (Theme from COPS)" by Inner Circle on Spotify. Count me in on this game, as well.
I just wanted to say I've been playing for about 20 minutes and I'm really liking this game so far. I'm totally out of cash though lol. My initial impressions are it's a fun game. I like the way they have the one touch controls and how the further you pull back behind the car the faster you go. Really nice job on this control scheme. I made it through all of the tutorial missions and now working on other missions. I've unlocked and upgraded 3 vehicles so far. I'm going to play some more and post a full review tomorrow after I've given the game atleast a full hour. I love the cops theme playing. It's awesome. So far I'm definitely thinking it's worth it's price. It seems like there's plenty of content here and things to do and upgrade. Billy
Played for a couple of hours. Enjoying this a fair bit - lots and lots and lots in common with smash cops. Some variety in mission types, a decent range of score bonuses / mark downs (hitting top speed / getting a near miss = bonus; destroying scenery = lose points). And a reasonable range of cars. Feel the generosity of cash bonuses could be tweaked - early car upgrades require $400-600, for example - and it can take a lot of missions to find 4 or 6 $100 cash crates! Finding hidden stars seems to guarantee a cash crate - but they can be pretty elusive, particularly in tight time limited missions (I feel as if there's no chance of going off piste on races, for example; which implies no chance of winning cash). It's also quite a grind! Unlock the second area at L25. After a coupla hours, I'm on L12. Also feels a touch repetitive - though this is grumbling. For £2.29, this is well worth a punt. And a very decent premium effort.
All in all an average game at best. Gets repetitive and so far all the missions are over very quickly. Best things about the game is the music.
I've been enjoying this game. A lot. How come in the 1940s when The Three Stooges were quite popular, people did not emulate their violence? How come this issue is repetitively brought up now? I'm very aware of the atrocities that have been committed in the NYC area and what has happened in New Orleans, but this is simply a fun arcade game. Go after people that play Call of Duty and GTA if you want to correlate between real life and violence.
Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Kind of disappointed that a game based on the cops tvshow has no methlabs and trailer parks in it . The gameplay is fun, was expecting it to be worse. Although the missions are a bit too similar to each other. For people who are still on the fence. This game has a certain structure with loot boxes, expensive and a lot of power ups, unforgiving nature of the missions plus a continue option and daily login bonuses. It kind of feels like it's been designed in way to go free pretty soon.
I'm Old Would anyone compare this game to the old Atari video game? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APB_(1987_video_game)
I'm thoroughly enjoying it and I'm glad I bought it but I've got to admit I did think exactly the same thing. Either that or it was going to be freemium and they decided to make it premium...
You know what's funny is when I got to the daily reward calendar I actually said out loud oh crap it's going free to play. Lol Billy
I assumed the latter. The total absence of current IAP (even though, imo, there'd likely be a clear market for IAP $$$) leaves me feeling pretty reassured that this is a balance issue, rather than designed-in gouging.
Balance issues (IMO): far too much grinding to unlock new areas "crime rate" - in the first area, at least - is pretty meaningless. I've been at 0% (ie no crime) for absolutely ages. The only way for it to increase is by failing levels; that ain't happening at the mo. (Maybe later?!) power ups are underpowered. They're completely pointless / add virtually nothing, afaict. And some seem pointless on some levels. cash appears to be flowing more readily today. But is still v grindy! Still enjoying this, but it does feel as if it's a few sandwiches short of a picnic.
