Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel I'm not registered there either, I'll have to ask someone who is.
Oh really? That's surprising. Swedish products are excellent and their companies are all pretty decent, so even more shame on Simogo!
Guys.. seriously. Let's play games and let's have fun I never played Bumpy Road. But it looks good on youtube, so why not play it... Don't mind what the guys from Simogo are saying. I don't care much so you shouldn't care too. Games are all about having fun, about being excited and inspired. So if the Bumpy Road can give you a bit of fun - give it a try. Even if you don't like the developer. P.S. Actually I'm going to buy the Bumpy Road right now, cause I'm interested of how the terrain deformation is implemented there. P.P.S. My English is not perfect, but I hope you understand what I wanted to say
Your game looks fun. I play games and drive trains. Either way, it looks great, love the atmosphere it has. I'll buy day one.
This game looks awesome. I missed the beta a while back but maybe that's for the better. Really can't wait to play this one. Artwork is sweet. I need to clear out some space on my phone. This week is going to make a dent.
Come on people..there's no need to get narky with simogo .. If you had just brought out a game with an element no other game had yet, then you later see an upcoming trailer to a game with similar elements, You too would make that assumption. Especially because contre jour has taken SO long to be released, so everyone would easily assumed it was made long after the first "bumpy road" trailer came out. They obviously made a wrong assumption. So let's just carry on as usual, and be a fan of both the devs, like I am! Contre jour is definatly inspired by WOG, not really the gameplay, but the abstract art and similar genre soundtrack, by no means I'd call it a "ripoff" though, I truly hope many game devs get on the abstract looking games ! They're the bomb diggity. The only thing I dislike about contre, is the time it took chillingo to release it, from greediness only, it was completed ages ago, yet that kept setting back the date to get people riled up about it. Back then I was excited for this game, I still am, but because I've waited so long, Nd been mislead about the date release so many times, it better be BLOODY good, and have heaps of levels or I will not be a fan at all.
It's unfair to say Chillingo has about 4 good games, and how can you compare blobster with AB and CTR?? How?
I'll admit, blobster isn't yet a classic like AB or CTR, but it does have what those 2 lack...a survival mode, and even a new race mode letting the user have something to keep playing. AB has been a little annoying since i have beat all the levels but going for three stars frustrates me and gets a little tedious. Back on to the thread and this current argument with Simogo, let them say what they want. Everybody has flaws, so wrong assumptions will be made. It just so happened that it occurred to this game. All that really matters in the end is if the game is fun and worth it, which this game definitely will be by the looks of it. Look...if Mokus is cool with it, then why make a big deal over this? Oh, and your English wasn't bad one bit
No. I would never blame someone for lack of originality (What Simogo did). Otherwise you should blame Cut The Rope - the mechanic has been taken from Obulis. Angry Birds - the mechanic from Crush The Castle. Etc. You know - it's like colors. If you mix blue and yellow - you will get green. So if any element of the game is new, or the mix of mechanics is new, the game become original. Ok. Let's forget.
That's an awesome way to put it (using colours, and I completely agree with you!) No one thinks this is a rip off, simogo were just letting off some uninformed steam. Your obviously a little offended because you were the one being accused of plagiarism, however us civiallians who aren't game devs and have nothing to do with this situation shouldn't be getting riled up about it. And you should try to forget it too, the comment was made when the subject was misinformed, he made assumptions that weren't correct, therefore any argument is invalid, and any negative comments they made should be completely disregarded. We all say silly things when we're mad and assume things negatively without knowing the full story. I'm a fan of both developers, but I have to admit the comments were a little out of line for a professional Company, professional people know to keep their mouths quiet as much as possible, there's nothing worse than seeing devs act pouty and narky toasted others, it can hurt the brand immensely. Simogo are maybe feeling a little down in the dumps right now because they had a huge hit, which has now faded from the charts, and the one thing they thought of (road moving element) they feel is being threatened, they're grabbing at straws to cling onto their clever idea and don't want another game with the same element they so cleverly though up be the next hit when in their minds it should be them and only them! They need to learn that they are certainly not the only ones that came up with the moving ground idea, plus contre jour and bumpy road are on opposite spectrums of genre! There a world apart from Each other, I doubt anyone would make the assumption there similar, even though both games you move the ground, it's still in an extremely different manner, one is an endless runner/ moving the car for speed and accuracy, and the other is a way to move a creature to connect him to slimely ropes and puzzle elements! I can hardly compare the two in a similar way. Simogo made a wrong assumption, and they're other comments were out of line, BUT they were probably acting on anger from the moment, they had JUST seen the trailer, assumed their work was being ripped off, and went off the handle and accused you of stealing off several games, which we all know is untrue, and we all know the comments were unwarranted. Every game can have inspiration from whatever they want, unless it's almost an exact replica then maybe it's plagiarism. I've never seen a game like contre jour in my life, so I don't consider it plagarism, but I can see how someone could make that assumption after seeing their idea "copied" (before they realized you created it first) then they'd jump on an offensive bandwagon because they felt threatened. Simogo really need to get used to it, within 6 months there will be SO many games with the moving ground element! Plagiarism to me, is something that doesn't add any extra or changed elements, and hasn't improved or involved the gameplay in any way, basically a "reskin" I don't even think ninja fishing/ and radical fishing are, because I wouldnt ever play radical fishing, but I'd play ninja fishing even though there very similar, but they have small differnces, and that alone is a huge improvement to capture a much broader audience by recreating radical fishing, but with no violence, no shooting, colorful graphics etc
Yea well that was kind of a joke as Finns and Swedish dislike each others(not all, not even me) so I was kind of making fun of Finns no Swedish. Look at my location
Went back to play some world of goo just to get back in the goo vibe. I really hope Contre's gameplay is as good as its artwork.
