No real issue with controls for me; the input area could be a bit larger, on the iPhone in particular, but a minor point. Auto-rotate will be appreciated.

As for the game itself, I don't feel totally certain yet as to how successful it will be, ultimately, in pulling off what it apparently sets out to achieve, but what is apparent is that it's reaching for places that the vast majority of other games do not attempt to go. And this in itself is both commendable and exciting. What's also apparent, early on, is that it successfully avoids the pitfalls of pretentiousness inherent in such attempts, and manages to evoke real pathos.

Curiously, I find myself with an odd thought: the "gameplay" doesn't matter. (For what it's worth, it's far from original or remarkable.) There's something else happening here, that's quite possibly important and should be experienced.

Yeah its not often i watch the intro and think 'wow'. Now i'm actually playing it i'm taking my time with it, enjoying the scenery/graphics and everything. Its one of those games i think people need to take their time with and not the usual 'post 4 hours later saying - finished it !'

Nice surprise it just appearing as i hadnt heard anything about it beforehand

Incredible, immersive, unique. It's like something I've never played before. Taking it all in at one sitting is to much. Take your time with it, embrace it, enjoy it ^.^

Does anyone else here think a floating vstick will work much better in controlling your character's movement?

Speaking of Vstick, the current DPad is actually a 360-degree vstick, but the hit-area arent extending a bit out side the dpad graphic.

Im glad Jason Oda's joined TA. Im sure the game'll be perfect in no time. Welcome Jason!

I think keeping it below 200 for this, and compressing to under 80, is a feat.
    I'm in.

Catch 22, we moan about large bloated apps but on the other hand we also like quality ! (I just deleted Earthworm Jim from my device, about 200 meg when the original rom is about 1 meg , totally bloated).

Had a quick go at lunchtime, dont mind the controls too much, just loving the graphics and game so far, i'm very early on with it but just enjoying it

Just watched the intro and moved the character a bit. Not worried about the controls, but I wish I could rotate the screen to the other side. I'll play more tonight, but what I've seen at the moment has hooked me well.

Yep the dev says auto-rotate will be in the next update soon so that'll be good.

Bleak, melancholy , poignant, haunting are just a few of the words that spring to mind "playing" this. So much more than a game, an experience in the true sense of the word.

It's not for everyone, but it's innovation like this that reminds me why I love this hobby. I was genuinely moved by the atmosphere conjured within the game.

Can't recommend it enough, what a surprise.

Played for some more minutes and it's weird, very weird... Which is good since it was made this way, but it is something I have to play more, understand more. It's not a game that will take you by the hand and guide through a tutorial. You're by yourself confused trying to find out where you are, what is this place. Just like the character is.

Controls works fine when the camera is top down, but that first angle I'm always hitting the walls like crazy.

By the way, I've just realized the numbers on the title is a countdown. Clap you hands for the genius here.

^Same here. The top-view and the side-view parts are easy to navigate with the limited radius, fixed vpad, but the 3D part is where i hit walls a lot too, and have a hard time aiming my attacks at enemies.

  16. Think you meant auto rotate, but cool that the dev is here making some mods, might have to give this a shot afterall.

Man, the game is fantastic. I don't know how to define it... Surreal? The limit between life and death represented as a videogame? I don't know. It's... a new experience. Sure, Sword and Sworcery was fantastic, but IMO this is incredible. More action oriented, but very, very strange. This game seems to be developed inside an LSD dream or something like that :p

I've been playing for 1h straight and I can't explain what you're doing in the game aside from running around, talking to weird characters, having strange conversations and entering rooms where you have to solve puzzles (riddles, word guessing, choose correct object, etc.), but it's incredible. It won't suit everybody though, but if you're looking for something weird, grab this. You won't regret.

Something I like a lot is the randomness there seems to be. The final objective seems to be the same always (avoid death), but with things placed randomly around maps. This makes replayability very, very high. And if the final objective is not clear (this is the only thing clear: that nothing is clear as to what to do or where to go), you can play over and over to see if something new appears in any new game... Or if you end up understanding something of what you're supposed to do in the game.

Controls wise, I think they could be fine tuned, but they work quite well as they are. Anyway, back to playing this... gaming experience.
