These new games are killing me. How the hell am I suppose to finish a game when we constantly get awesome game releases? This game looks so unique, it'd be a crime to pass. Now my backlog is in a state of uncertainty, and constantly being buried 6 feet deep. I'm starting to question the thought of mobile gaming being a cheap alternative with over $50 spent on one screen alone.. I dare not calculate a months worth.
The gameplay reminds me a bit of Oceanhorn, BUT the controls may need a little tweaking to make it fantastic. The art style is obviously good. It's like Sword & Sworcery in 3D. As mentioned above, you walk around talking to NPCs, and interacting in the world with a virtual dpad, and a button to interact or thrust your sword. Just like how Oceanhorn is. Where it is different is in the mood. This game, in tandem with the great art-style, oozes in atmosphere. Where this game doesnt shine is in the Virtual Dpad. There is a box on the left side which acts as a dpad, and one of the problems is that the hitbox doesnt extend outside the box. Also, the movement doesnt feel precise with the current implementation of the virtual dpad. It isnt unplayable though, just rough around the edges. Maybe a few control tweaks, and we definitely have a winner here. EDIT: The more i play, the more the controls mess me up. Im starting to understand how the mechanics of the game worlds are (been in 2 so far), but there are still things that are seemingly vague. My confusion includes: Spoiler what are these shelters? The lightnings that you receive, which unlock paths for you.
I'm right there with you on that one! I actually have a spare iPhone 4S (32GB) filled with back logged games right now. It's hard to keep up! On Topic: love the look of this game!
Thanks for the imps. After a hefty day of Christmas shopping, not to mention the recent binge I've had in iOS spending, I may wait a bit on this one and see if they update the controls....particularly since you mention them messing you up the more you play. I have MORE than enough to keep me busy. I do like the atmosphere of this one, but as far as games that aren't a short level here and there, I still haven't finished Oceanhorn for goodness sake. Too many games!
Can anyone in NZ confirm whether this is still available? Doesn't appear to be in the AU store. EDIT: Never mind; it is.
Holy.. That's one of the most amazing iOS game trailers I've ever seen, and the game narrative is gorgeous. Want now!
This doesn't look like anything I've ever seen before and after reading the description and watching the trailer I'm won over.
This game will not appeal to the majority. It's very strange, and that is going to be off-putting to some people. There are a few control issues, such as the d-pad not extending beyond its zone and two buttons being placed too close together. And there's the lack of auto-rotate. But if you can overlook those minor problems then you will be able to enjoy one of the most unique iOS games this year. It's as surreal as anything by Simogo, if not more so. The music is stunning and sets the mood beautifully. The game is very tense as well, as you try to stay ahead of the Garbage Collector.
This game is far too unique and beautifully immersive to sleep on. The music, visuals, and atmosphere it creates is surreal. The controls are not a deal breaker at all.
