Hey Intendro, I didn't mess with the flickering because I just haven't had that many complaints about it and getting into the code in that way just requires a lot of testing, debugging, and patching. Sorry! I think a TA review is finally in the works.
It's too much. It's like it's flashing as rapidly as it can. When you are deleted it goes even further with bright flashing. It just shouldn't do that.
I am about to purchase the game for iOS and noticed the comment about the flickering and was wondering if this was full screen flashing. I have epilepsy and very rapid flashing can trigger seizures in some people with epilepsy. I haven't had any flashing-triggered seizures yet but I still try to play it safe. The game looks awesome though and can't wait to play it.
There is full screen flashing in places (like the brightness of lightbulbs in a room or something like that). There's bright full screen flashing at game over. There's also doorways that flash white. All the flashing is very rapid. It annoys my eyes. I'm really sorry to say, but I'm not so sure people with seizures could play without risk, at least for some of the flashing. Or certainly not that game over flashing. I'm not just saying that to make the developer change it, really. I don't want to sound like I'm whining or anything... (The only reason I'm making yet another comment is in response to someone else.)
I have to agree. I love the game and think it's fantastic, but the first thought I had with the flashings (which don't bother me, btw) is if it would be suitable for epileptics. I think many people won't have a problem with flashings in game, but I'm not so sure about epileptics.
Yeah, sorry. I'd hate to give anybody a seizure, so you might want to stay away. It's not that bad, but there is flashing at times.
Hey Jason, just tried the casual mode update, thanks for that...it's such a peaceful, contemplative game that you want to slow down a bit, so that helps....one thing I'd like to ask. Could you maybe in the future offer an option to turn off or down the harsh sounds you have for the text? It does not jive well with the great music you have going. Thanks! Great game man! and I'm glad you survived that desert walk!
Yep. 1.5 is here, which has Casual mode. This means you finally get to survive the second storm and see the other cut scenes. The second cut scene is probably the most important as far as the meaning of the game goes. Casual mode stuff: -The bolt counts are now: 7, 12, 17. -There are no time limits on the larger levels. -The battles are easier. Enemies are slower and die more easily. -No side battles at end of round. -You get more money for battling, making it affordable to buy your way out of death. -You get 9 max ram instead of 6.
I've heard the reviewer assigned to it got sick or something...and maybe forgot about it after all this time. Bad luck. It'll probably never get reviewed.
Think this is a great little gem of a game, at first you think 'what do i do ?' but they've made it a bit easier/clearer. Great graphics, really takes you into the game as its all quite surreal. Well worth picking up, congrats on the review
Yay, a review ! Finally ! Don't hesitate guys, try out that game, it's got great visual/ambiance/music and provides a very different experience from what you're usually used to.
Just read this whole thread and downloaded the game. What an interesting story holy hell, anyways it's too late to get too deep into something like this but I'm excited anyways!
