Wondering if I should get this for Mac or Iphone--surely I'd be more immersed on my Mac (less distractions), but I'm wondering if its a good port.
Honestly... Both. I'd imagine playing on the bigger screen would make it quite a bit more immersive. If that's exactly the type of experience you're going for, Mac is the way to go. But I love having this on my phone. Even on a 4 inch screen it has a way of pulling you completely in. On that note, it's also not really a game that you can play in little spurts or only half-way pay attention while playing like most iOS games...
My personal favorite is the iphone. I just love the way it looks and feels there. The retina resolution on such a small screen is just gorgeous. You have to deal with touch controls, but in my opinion it's worth it. As the designer when it's all blown up, all I see is how I could have tweeked this or that graphically to look better...but maybe others don't see this . The desktop version is really nice with a good controller though. If you're going with the keyboard, maybe the iphone version is better.
Continue?9876543210 Or how to love Garbage Collection Expunging First Simon then Kye I went away 4/16 ending with a console exit but both loops were a lot of "sanctuary is barren" with default expunge shelters Got foo? Nope. Got car parts? Lost 'em. Alrighty then, boom, zap, lil town!! It was frustration. I love the visuals and music but ... Seemingly at random, the thundering war path announcement of having to jump and slash those stupid chattering teeth was detracting. My main weakness was the lack of dexterity to sword off the enslaught-er of my playersprite. Overhead! Jump, slash, jump, rotate, slash, <argh eaten> !!! The juxtaposition of a poetic moment with obtaining prayer in a room then quickly seeing lightning demolish those hard won shelters was jarring and demoralizing. Life is sh*t and the universe is indifferent. Is that the point? Null. Null. Null. I had a great happy childhood and the love of friends and family but man, was it a bummer to be reminded of that from perpetual Groundhound Day loopy purgatory. Oddly this was one time in a game that I actually looked forward to the cutscenes. The downtempo quiet moments, the wondering what the heck is going to happen now, where am I going, etc Chill, hang loose... I just want to keep my face down in that good field. Void me. All said, this was a unique beautiful artful soulful experience at times and less of a "fun" game? for me. Others will love it and I hope these words will NOT dissuade others from trying. I would still recommend it, but not for me right now. I want to go pet that dog in Sword & Sworcery. Go forward with much patience. Ps. The instructions and fool were sufficient, no tutorial needed. I have not read any reviews just saw the trailer video.
Thanks gcl. Dev here. Glad you sort of liked it or at least found the experience semi-valuable. Always happy to hear from people who seemed like they kind of got it even if they had a hard time getting far. Some people are going to like the slowness of S&S better, some are going to like the action of Continue? even though it requires a decent amount of skill and improvement to get down. Some hardcore gamers think it's too easy...I get 16/16 every time. But thanks! Good to hear your thoughts!
Congrats for getting on Steam. Hope you see great sales For those who might be interested: http://store.steampowered.com/app/263340
Just finished my first run. This game is frustrating difficult and amazing. The. Dialogue and environments that I've seen so far have been, both graphically and otherwise beutifull. The time limit is restrictive but adds appropriate tension and I felt the small mini games kept me engaged. With sword&sworcery I found myself spacing out a lot. P.S Thanks for the childhood pet thing. Really nice.
I'd bought this on the first day I'd found out it was released after the trailer and was finally able to give it a go last night, and my time with it was absolutely wonderful. Though I hadn't survives the first storm, what I had experienced was fantastically written and struck chords near to my heart. The music and graphical style were also amongst the best I've seen in the App Store. I really respect Jason Oda for this accomplishment and for his close collaboration with members of this forum, and for his active implementation of feedback-suggested features. This game was an extremely interesting philosophical journey for myself, at the very least, and loads of fun, in addition. This is something I envy being able to show for on a portfolio, and I'm extremely grateful for having had the opportunity to play a game that would encourage the sort of thought that this one did. Truly a masterpiece in its artistic expression, which is something the App Store is far lacking in. All in all, it's absolute genius, I'd recommend this to anyone with an attention span! I'll be posting this review in the App Store with a five-star rating, since I'd honestly had no problems with it, controls or otherwise, and since it accomplished what I imagine it had intended to, at least in the single run I have so far offered it.

Thank you so much! Had a bunch of mediocre reviews on the Steam side today so reading that somebody on the IOS side liked it helped my spirits to be lifted! Wow, thanks to whoever got me on here. Looks like it's running in the middle of the pack! Not bad considering what it's running against. Maybe now touch arcade will actually do a review!
Review just went up on IGN! Check it out at http://m.ign.com/articles/2014/01/15/continue9876543210-review

v 1.5 Hey folks. Version 1.5 is about to go up. It will include an easy mode which makes the enemies slower and weaker, the amount of bolts you need to avoid less, and makes the larger levels have no time limit and instead use the talk or fight to 5 progress system seen in the first level. Need to debug the best I can, then it will be submitted. Hopefully it will be up next week.
Cool thing, this will give more time for new players to immerse themselves in your universe, instead of having to run around a lot, and seasoned players still have the regular difficulty to get some fun ! You did that after reading the review from IGN ?
1.5 Uploaded! Just realized that a lot of mobile users were not getting very far with the game. Probably won't add it to the Steam version though.
