Agree. I like the suggestion of somebody else: add the first character you speak to (the one at the very beginning) a message such as "Would you like an in-depth tutorial, or would you like to explore RAMdomness alone?" Or something like that
Yes! Update! Are the new controls what you were looking for? Are they going to be considered to be ok now?
I think they should re-review the game again since its really inaccurate Thanks to dev for the fast update improvement... Downloading now
Yes! The controls are fantastic. I didn't have a problem with the original scheme, but it's always great having options when it comes to controls. I haven't found the one that I'm most comfortable with yet... I don't know about the large pad. It might have been better to keep the pad small, but keep the touch area that large... maybe have a dotted line that showed where the cutoff was, and have it fade after a couple seconds, leaving the smaller (original) pad. Or maybe it's exactly what people were hoping for... I'm just rambling. As for a tutorial that shows players everything... if you do end up adding it to the game, you should definitely have a little note if they select to view it - saying that the game is intended to be played without a tutorial. I'd hate to have got this game after you added something like that, watched it, and only later found out that it wasn't really meant to be there. Just thoughts... I love this game. It's worked it's way into my top 3 favorite games on the iOS for 2013, and will probably wind up being one of my favorite games on any platform. Ever. Good luck with the reviews and getting as much attention as you can for Continue... ! =o) **edit** I'll be sure and update my review whenever iTunes starts working for me. For some reason, it won't let me write a review right now. I keep clicking the 'write review' button, but nothing pops up. =o/
Yeah, I love the first mini-pad because you just squish your finger and roll, but I think for people who hate it and are baffled by the floating joy, the big pad is a bit of a must. And yeah, the forgiveness zones for going out of the pad area are huge. Did you guys notice that on the side scroll mode, the running speed is also much slower and sensitive? It's so people don't go crazy crashing into things. I also wonder if just putting that message in the beginning: dearest friend, you will be confused at first, but be brave. In time you will understand. will be just enough to help people not be so confused and get that it's ok if they are. I'm going to try to do a better job promoting it on Monday. I have guests arriving today and staying all weekend. Thank you so much folks! You are the ones truly keeping me from being totally depressed about this. Sold a whole 20 copies yesterday! woo hoo!
That's great... Hope this game get more attention, also I hope more press can review this game. Moreover, app spy should re-review this game once again... Good luck Jason, this game should deserves what it should be
Yes, they are exactly what I was expecting. The game is great. Good luck with it! Agree. AppSpy and Pocket Gamer should revise/review again the game after the update EDIT: Updated my review so that it appears for this version
Wee ! Great, I was really waiting for that update to keep playing, the controls were kinda hindering my enjoyment !
Was waiting for the update before buying. I rarely buy games at launch because there are typically bugs and stuff that need fixed. On that note, Bought! Now when you see the next batch sales I was one of them As for a tutorial, maybe instead of doing that make a free/lite version people can get that gives a taste of the gameplay along with some general tutorial bits thrown in. Maybe a prequel or something with a small area to explore and so on? Maybe use one of the NPC's as the main character thrust into the void destined for deletion? I'm rambling since I just bought the game and haven't even fired it up yet. But a free type prequel or whatever would probably help get a few sales since folks could try something then buy the main game.
Can we get TA to review the game now that the new controls are out? Where are the TA guys to help promote inde devs??? Their silence is deafening quite frankly.
Maybe they were waiting for the update to go live before reviewing? I'm sure they read these threads, so they might have just waited for the update to give their final impression. We're all quite happy with the game here in the thread, even though first reviews were not good, so maybe they just decided to wait for the update to review the game
Yeah, definately. This game has quite a unique background / story / look & feel and should definately be covered. It's pure awesomeness, and quite an OVNI in the bottomless sea of freemium endless runner and match three games that compose the iOs gaming landscape
Played some of this tonight. What a head trip. I read the help and I still was pretty confused. It's a good kind of confused though. I stopped when I got to the second area. For me it was the level called childhood. Anyway, great game. I'm glad in the options I could switch jump and attack. That was tough the first few time a battle happend as I was used to attack being one location and it moved. I gotta play this more, but needed to come back and just boast on how strange and awesome this game is. I'm glad I wear headphones with games like this as the sound effects and soundtrack are very nice.
Here's an article that talks a little bit about some of the backstory and general ideas behind the game. http://venturebeat.com/2013/12/13/continue9876543210-video-game-characters-death/
