http://www.topappcharts.com/search.php?string=continue%3F9876543210&show=search&price=any Most iOS gamer wouldn't notice quality and innovation even when you nail it on their front heads. If I were Jason, I'd go for Steam Greenlight and port it to PC, it has that potential.
It was Greenlit, so I guess it will be ported to PC. I agree it has potential. On phones, it's great as a mini adventure game with loads of random elements. I'm still amazed as to how each game I play is, in one way or another, different to the previous one. Now that I've played more, I get more things in my games which are repeated from previous games, such as minigames or levels, but I still get things which I've never seen before. Cutscenes also add a whole lot to the adventure. If you check the images in this link, there are a lot of things to be seen: http://www.continue9876543210.com/gallery.html From there, I still have to see: - My prison (never got that level yet). - "sometimes it is necessary to lie in the gutter" (don't remember so many bars). - Da club. - His cell (I guess this will be in "My prison" level). I've seen the rest in my playthroughs. Waiting eagerly for the update to go live. Hopefully I'll be able to go past storm 2 after the update...
It's never shocking though to see how impatient devs and gamers can be about how fast a game should be a major financial success. A new completely unknown dev pops up out of no where 6 days ago with a cool looking game and manages to get #95 in top paid Adventure Games. No one got rich quick but everything is pretty positive moving forward and I think with an update, time, and gamer help this game can do really well and make the dev some money. In 6 days though there really wasn't much chance the dev was going to pocket a lot of money that could then be used to port the game. Heck I don't think they even get one penny of the money from Apple until after the first month it's been on the store right? Patience. It's hard. And if I actually go through with developing some of my ideas and publishing them I'll have to live by these words. But, honestly if I do make anything it's going to be cool even to make back the $100 for the dev license.
How do you figure this out? Yeah, it's been less than a week, maybe I'm expecting too much. This is the slum level, my favorite in the game! Yep, they're all true. I'm guessing you found the war one which seems pretty unbelievable. I'll look into this in later builds, but the priority for now is just to get the these bigger things done and on the app store as soon as possible. Thank you for any ratings you've guys posted! I'm feeling a little bit better today because of a nice Kotaku post. http://kotaku.com/cool-indie-game-has-a-name-im-only-going-to-type-once-1477546986
AppStore App on my iPhone, "Top Charts" button at the bottom, "categories" button at the top, "Games" from the list, "Adventure" from the next list. Then where it has "Paid" just hit the "See All" in the list from there. I'm in the USA store and scrolling down to #95 is your game. I don't know how many days of data keeps it at that level or the other metrics behind it... but there it is. As frustrating as it may be 6 days in, try not to panic and make decisions in that panic about sales and whatnot. You've built a little core base of support here (I have no idea about other sites)... see how it grows over the next couple weeks before making any decisions. Heck once the update hits and you see how the feedback is for it... then maybe take the marketing up a notch.
I was able to scrounge up a couple bucks and get it into the bank so I could get this... finally. It feels like a while since I was completely blown away by the trailer (yes, I know it's only been a couple days). I've only played about an hour so far, but I am... loving this. You sir, have done an amazing job. I really can't say more than that, or anything that hasn't been said already. I love the controls. I love the graphics, the atmosphere, the music, story, everything. Wrote a review in the US AppStore, and I really really hope that Continue gains traction this month.
Nope, I haven't found that one yet. The ones I found were one I can't remember but I think was about Spoiler someone you loved who might have left you and the other which I remember better is Spoiler where you got lost in the mountains and the car kind of broke apart. When you were lost, nearly frozen cold and thinking about the last conversation with your father and you were rescued by some people who had camped nearby. This reminds me a lot of the "town" missions where you have to survive the storms. True, I fully agree. Be patient, check how this grows, how people react after the update and after, only after and maybe, take the marketing up a notch. But give time to the game. Maybe you can drop a line to Junk Jack devs and ask them how their game performed in the first weeks after the release. Those guys have never held a sale of their game, ever. They just supported it with loads of updates fixing bugs and adding more things to the game. In "Continue?", this could be as easy as adding new levels and new minigames (driving the truck that picks you up at the beginning anyone? ). I think the support you're getting here at TA forums is very high, something which is not easy either. Congrats!
Wow, this is...something else. The music, the art, all of it comes together quite masterfully. And they say games aren't art. Although, I do in regards to controls, they definitely need some tweaking. I died mostly due to them. But I know an update is coming out to fix it, so no complaints here. Amazing work, Dev!
Today I (finally!) got to play it on my iPad. Since the buttons are bigger, it plays much better than on the iPhone. It also looks beautiful there. Now I can play while at home and on the go
V 1.3 is almost done. For 1.4 I'm thinking about making it compatible with the new powershell. Are you guys going to get one of these? http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/product/powershell-controller-and-battery Another question. Right now you can have IOS 5 and Continue? will still work, but if I make it powershell compatible, i will have to make it IOS7. Do you think this is smart and worth it?
So it will only works with ios 7 u mean? I dun intend to go ios 7 yet.. So that's bad.. But I could be the minority one... Dun intend to use controller seems like its for those hardcore gamers?
Fantastic! Hopefully v1.3 will make it live prior to the App Store Christmas closure. I don't use external controls for the game, but I'm sure this game would play amazingly well with them. I'm on ios7, so I wouldn't have problems, but I don't know about the rest. Nonetheless, if v1.3 is still ios5 compatible, if you add powershell support to v1.4 and someone with ios5 tries to get the game, I think the App Store says something like "this version is not compatible with your ios. Would you like to install the latest compatible version?". So people would still be able to use v1.3, which is the version which will have all the control options and adjusted difficulty. The only problem with this would be that they wouldn't be able to update if you add new levels, minigames, etc.
Just bought it The intro itself is great n sets expectations Bt I must say I'm pretty lost , understand the speech spelling / phrasing is slightly off intentionally . Roughly know what I should do but I dun get what the people mean when I talk to them, what set off the minigame etc really confusing to me.. Controls hard to use (waiting for the fix I understand). Think I lost shelters cos I was given choice but can only expulge shelter, twice. (think I run out of time or something, dun even know what happen. Pretty much lost. Will try again n again to understand ...
There're already some instruction (hints) about this game mentioned in earlier comments. Here is the spoiler Spoiler Those people will give you hints, some of them also sell entry for you which you must pay with foo. The entry can give you a chance to get prayer for build the shelter or lightning for open the exit path, if you notice there's indicator bar in the top right side for example 1/5. 1 is the amount of person who had been asked by you, 5 is the max number before the penalty comes out. The penalty can give you some profit too, if you won the dream battle it'll give you some key to open the entry Hope this help. I recommend you to googling if you got stuck. Have fun, because the greatest part of this game (confusion) just begin Yes, confusion is the best part of this game...
