Either way, it's becoming a PR fiasco for Apple and the Jobs justifications (though I love them) really border on condescending. The SF Chronicle wrote a good piece this morning about one of Apple's previous PR fiasco's involving the Power Mac Cube from eons ago. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/07/13/MNV61ED7QU.DTL&tsp=1 I know people have been ripping on Consumer Reports but I trust them more than Apple right now.
Consumer reports convinced us to buy a bunch of different Hondas. I do not trust Consumer Reports now. Mind you, they aren't bad cars, but they also aren't good cars. Every Honda we have owned has died earlier, both in miles and years (way earlier in years) then the 1997 Ford Escort I am still driving, currently with nearly 160k miles on it.
