Personally I think that they should really stick it to this guy, frankly I don't want to know what stuff my government is doing to protect me. I (and millions of other americans) am/are kept safe and thats all that really matters. Throw this guy in prison and make an example out of him. Maybe execution is necessary in this particular instance.

    harsh dude. lol.

I think there is nothing really wrong with what he did. Sure it makes my government look terrible, but that's a given. Sure they are protecting us, and that's awesome. They do something that I could never do. But it doesn't give them the right to do what those soldiers did at all.

Making such an example of this guy is only going to make things worse, the community will cause an uproar, more than they already are. *shrugs*

But who knows. I frankly just have little of a negative opinion on this.

Pretty sure the main point of the leaks is bringing to light stuff that the government does which is potentially harmful to the good of the nation.

Well what is harmful to our nation if U.S. Soldiers kill seemingly "innocent" people in Baghdad?

If you want to get paranoid you could say something like, "Oh well this gives Russia a reason to attack us cause we attacked innocent civilians" or something along those lines. If thats the path you choose to use then you may be right in the sense that it could cause riots or something in other countries or cause certain people to hate the U.S. But if all this info was kept secret there is no doubt in my mind that any harm would come because no one would know about it. Frankly if Reuters (A news company mind you) employees had people "protecting" them with AK-47's then something is up. You don't have your employees protected with people carrying AK-47's unless they are up to no good.

Are you seriously about to start a debate about whether or not ruthlessly murdering innocent people is a good or bad move? If you crave government secrecy with a dash of corruption and the occasional killing spree, there's a nice little patch of land just above South Korea you'll be right at home in.
