Lame. I'm so much of a games nerd I just saw:

...and thought to myself, "that's almost the same amount as the Zombie Genocider achievement in Dead Rising".

...which is 53,594 by the way. Maybe when we hit that number we'll all die then subsequently rise from our graves and make our way straight to the nearest shopping mall. Edit: and queue up outside the Apple store.

Yeah, I know the feeling. I never got around to finishing Bioshock even though I was near the end. Arkham Asylum, too, but that one I just got sick of. Quick hint for RDR: after the final cut-scene, head over to Blackwater and do the stranger quest. Gotten past the ranch missions yet? Such a chore.

I haven't finished Bioshock either, got to the one garden place and needed to go make the one thingy to stop the trees from giving off fumes. Got to lazy to go and find the stuff  probably should go and play that.

BTW... about how long is RDR?

lol I remember that part. Heck, you're like halfway done  I stopped at the point where you find the different parts to the bomb. Maybe a couple hours or so ahead. I'd finish it, but it's on a different GT, and that bugs me somewhat.

RDR took me a good... man, I really don't know. I remember it lasted it a while. Single player, just complete the main mission, maybe 7 hours or so? Perhaps a little longer.

So 20+ hours doing sidequests and just exploring, etc?

Alright, random selection of my stats so far...

    Game completed - 42.0%
    Total time played - 2 days 11 hr 2 min 24 sec
    Misions completed - 27
    Areas discovered - 53/94
    World events encountered - 140
Unique world events encountered - 25
Distance travelled by foot - 71.78 mi
Distance travelled by horse - 123.60 mi
    Animals killed - 205
    People killed - 582

The game keeps way, way more stats than that but those are the ones that give you an idea of the scale of the game.

Probably. To get the Redeemed achievement (100% completed) you could spend a while. There's a bunch of challenges, exploring/getting all the maps, all the guns, mounts, and like you said, side-quests. Yeah, at least 20 hours. I spent a large chunk in multiplayer free roam just messing around, too. There was this one map, El Presidisio or something, with 4 cannons and 2 gattling guns. We'd get randomly take other players out. The cannons are soooo much fun.

So about 5 days? You're halfway through-ish... I think this is the next game I get.

Possibly, I think the second half of the story will go by a bit faster than the first because I've seen a lot of stuff now so there's nothing to hang about and take my time with, but all the item collecting and whatnot is gonna drag on for quite a while yet.

It does get slightly less fun towards the end, especially with the backtracking, but I find that happens with a lot of games. Still awesome though.

BTW, inFAMOUS, Fat Princess, LittleBigPlanet, and Uncharted alone are enough to make it worth buying a PS3 :)

Yeah, you return to a few areas you've been to before. I can't remember much of the game but I'm sure it's not too bad.

You for got MGS and GoW.
However, the XBox 360 hits back with Halo 3(critically acclaimed as one of the best FPs's in history), Forza 3, L4D2, Alan Wake, Fable 3, Crackdown 2, Gears of War, Mass Effect 2, and Splinter Cell: Conviction.
Each console has worthy exclusives. The question is, which executes them better, and IMO the XBox does because of the innovative party system, the more active multiplayer, and a better controller

"More active multiplayer" has no real effect except on really old games. Just because the 360 version of a game has 100,000 people playing and the PS3 version only has 70,000 doesn't mean you're gonna struggle to find a game. It's still got a ton of people playing.

The party system thing sounds decent enough but in all honesty I've never really found the need. I tend to team up with only one friend at a time anyway.

I really can't remember, maybe I'm just thinking of the hub area... I'm sure there was some though. It's a bit like the Metroid Prime games.

Two of the very best games in the past few years and you haven't completed them? I'd put them at the top of your list.

Although seeing as you got sick of AA, doubt we have the same attitude towards games.

You aren't making any sense! Active multiplayer? A better controller doesn't make a difference on how great the game is, or the party system! The game is still great! There are a lot more ;) I named a few that would be worth getting a PS3 for... the full list is:

    Ratchet and Clank
    Motorstorm
    Gran Turismo
    God of War
    MGS4
    Final Fantasy 14: Online
    LittleBigPlanet
    Modnation Racers
    Fat Princess
    Joe Danger
    3D Dot Game Heroes
    Uncharted
    inFAMOUS
    Killzone
    Resistance
    Demon Souls
    The Last Guardian
    SOCOM
