Finally for the best console wars to date http://www.technobuffalo.com/blog/gaming/console-wars-round-12-the-finale
That's not the problem, it's just badly designed. Even brand new controllers suffer from the same issues. It's been a pretty common complaint the past three years or so...
To be honest that's what I don't like about mouse controls... they turn everything into an arcade game. Realistically people can't spin and shoot that fast with that amount of precision, gunfights should be slightly slower.
And people shouldn't be able to quick-scope either, but they do. And realistically you would have more recoil and not magically heal.
Well quite, I don't want to make it any worse by using a mouse. I want to miss occasionally, that's the fun part.
Good thing is I don't quick-scope . The other thing is you can change your sensitivity on console so then it becomes unfair too, you should have a set sensitivity.
Real draconic DRM is only specific to a few developers (yes, I'm looking at you, Ubisoft), a lot of games nowadays still use a simple disc/serial check (look at the company CDProjekt, an example of PC gaming done right). Also (I think I already addressed this in another thread, but I'll do so again), you usually only have to upgrade your PC once every generation, sometimes maybe even less than that. My PC isn't exactly brand new (a good few years old in terms of specs) and it can run lots of current games just fine. Plus there's the added bonus of complete backwards compatibility, so you can play classics from ages ago. Oh, and emulators too.
I own a 360 - but I wish I had went for a PS3 (for the blu-ray player). I don't really play to much games on my 360 anymore - however I am eagerly awaiting for Alpha Protocol and Red Dead Redemption to drop in price. If I had to choose I'd say PC
Yeah, it's most likely not the hardware doing something wrong, but probably the user. Also it doesn't help if we don't know the specs. Apparently Alpha Protocol was one of those games which had a good concept, but failed to deliver ultimately. I'd probably go with RDR only.
Have you ever crossed your eyes? That's what it feels like to me to hold a PS3 controller, but with my hands. The 360 controller buttons are better, more responsive.... The d-pad does suck though, no one's arguing there. The bumpers and triggers! On the PS3 controllers, the bumper buttons and triggers are all mushy and the triggers are such a shape that they (in my experience) 'trigger' when I place the controller on the table. The 360 controller is designed better in almost every aspect.
Fail statistics. Anyway heard of the Yellow Light of Death? I found out what causes it: "Experienced the ylod twice myself, on two different units. The first time my playstation was still under warranty and I received a refurbished model. The second yellow light happened on the refurbished model after warranty period. Since the warranty was up and I have an electrical engineering background, I decided to disect this machine to see what the issue was. Once apart, I found the major problem for overheating was due to the fact that the power supply/inverter has absolutely no ventillation. The bottom half and right side of the ps3 have good ventillation(heat sinks, exchanger plates, large fan), however that only cools the bottom side of the circuit board. Coincidentally the power supply/inverter rests on the top side of the cicuit board right over the cell processor( cell processor hangs on bottom side of cicuit board and has power supply on other side of board). Although the chip itself has good cooling, the cicuit board it is attached too is subject to extreme heat from the non ventillated power supply. Enough heat to potentially melt the solder joints within the chip to the board, thus giving the YLOD. To fix issue, the circuit board had to be flipped and reheated to melt solder again in hopes it reconnects the chip to the board. After successfully doing this, I drilled holes in the left hand upper portion of the plastic case to provide ventillation to the power supply/inverter. Have had no more issues for 2 years now. In my opinion, there are 2 ways to avoid the YLOD altogether." Damn. Worse design than Microsoft!
Why isn't there an option for PC gaming? I voted for Xbox because the multiplayer is better, but PC gaming pretty much kills all the consoles in terms of gameplay.
Gave me a chuckle. Oh, wait, you were serious. I'm pretty sure the failure rate speaks for itself. Although the problem has been remedied with the 360 S, the original failure rate was absolutely horrible in terms of consumer electronics, or any consumer product for that matter that didn't come out of a pawn shop or dollar store. You can't even try to say that the PS3's design was more flawed than that of the 360 with those kinds of statistics stacked against the argument. You do realize that he had the sense to make clear the fact that the 360 and the PS3 both have their strong points, yes? You're not gaining anything by imposing your opinion on others. I dunno about you, but I'd much rather spend the time you use fanboy-flaming for playing all those exclusives.
Well, this is an Apple based forum, so PC gamers like us here are few and scarce. Also some people don't consider the PC to be a console, for some reason.
Well, I have my Mac which I use for most things, and a gaming rig which I only use for gaming. I'm really glad I chose to get a computer instead of an Xbox/PS3. My sister has a PS3 and my cousin has an Xbox, so basing my opinions from the online gameplay I would like the Xbox better. The controller is also better IMO.
