My iPod Touch 2G crashed on me and when I switched it back on it had the connect to iTunes screen. However when I connect it to iTunes it says, Cannot connect iPod Touch to iTunes because the iPod Touch is locked with a passcode, please enter passcode and try again. However I cannot enter the passcode because of the connect to iTunes screen and I cannot connect to iTunes because I need to enter the passcode.

I know I could solve this by putting the iPod into restore mode and restoring it. However it's jailbroken and isn't backed up at all. (I don't sync my iPod I drag and drop music files then delete them off my computer)

Please say there's a way around this.

That's why i keep a hard drive to back up the music files.
As far as ik, you need to reset your itouch to get the password unlocked!

iThought I'd put life in this old thread than create a new one for a similar issue.

I was effing Sleepy when I created a passcode for the iPod touch (I have no clue why I did that!)
I am not able to recollect what it is now (however, I had used a passcode from the numbers 2356 in a diff combo previously ; like months ago, it has to be the same numers this time, not sure of the order though.)
I tried restoring the backup from itunes I had done today (before the passcode creation blunder), it does not take the passcode off :(
    > I also created a mobileme account on trial as I read somewhere that I can change the passcode on that, but the account is not setup on the touch :(
    > when I synced it, it restarted the unit & locked it >.< or else I could have set the mobileme 1st & tried that :'(

    The Million $ question...
How do I not loose stuff from the iPod touch & get rid of the passcode?

    iOS 4.0.2, iPod touch 2g & Mac os x 10.5.8

I am Shocked on how could I enter the same passcode twice on the creation screen in such a sleepy state!
