    Hey there

So, we submitted our app (YEAH!) and now await the email from apple with a release date and the green light.

My question is, at what point do they let you know the release date and send out promo codes?

Is it the day it goes live, a week earlier, ??? We can't seem to suss it out from any of the info in the dev materials.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You ca set the relase date to any date you wish.

You can set it to the distance future while its in review and if you got approved you can change it to some date that fits you and your other release endavours

And apple doest send out promo codes... To ehom should they send them to?

There are documents surrounding itunes connect..maybee you should look into them

First you will see your app change status to "In review" ( 3 to 8 days) . Usually in the next 2 days if everything is kosher your app will change to a "Ready for Sale" status in the store. Usually a new app will experience a time delay before it is actually is for sale in the store.

During this delay you now have some control for a short period of time to set the date of release to the next day. (your choice) This whole process can backfire in terms of where you appear on the new release page. It is not carved in stone how your app will appear on the new release pages. Many developers have had their apps misplaced. Good luck with your new app!

why do you need to release your app one day after it was approved?

    Mr Ugly,

there have been many discussions on this topic before. It seems the best practice has been to wait for the "Ready for Sale" email, then quickly go in and set the next days date as your release date.

This was the " best" solution most developers agreed on. If it really is is a whole other story.
