Everything on my Vista PC has "stopped working"
WHAT THE F*CK DOES THAT MEAN?!

    Heres what I mean:
Ok so I was using my computer to get some songs and listen to music and stuff. A few hours later, I went back on it and tried to use internet. An error message came up saying "Internet Explorer has stopped working."

So I went into Control Panel to try to reinstall it, and it crashed and said "Windows Explorer has stopped working." So then, it came up with a Problems and Answers or whatever help screen, which never loaded because "Windows Problems has stopped working." So I wanted to check if it was a virus with Avast! Antivirus. You guessed it "Avast! Antivirus has stopped working" The only thing I managed to get to work so far is iTunes, and I tried right clicking on a song and, "iTunes has stopped working."

I tried restarting my computer. No luck :( Please help!

    What does that mean?

    Simple:

It sounds like you might need to bit the bullet and do a system restore. To do this, boot in safe mode, then select run and type "msconfig". Under an option ("General", iirc) you should see system restore.

First, though, boot into safe mode, and see if you can run any anti-virus, malware, and adware software. Run a disk defrag while you're at it too. Clear out your cache as well (carefully).

If that doesn't work, then try a system restore. Hopefully you remembered to make backups (or does Vista auto backup stuff? I forget).

while the computer is booting, keep hitting F8 on your keyboard (once a second should be enough) until you get a prompt for boot mode, select "Safe Mode" and see if things work "better" or not. If they do, try doing a system restore to something previous (2 or 3 days ago).

that's an easy first thing to do if reboots don't cure something.

ooops, didn't see the rest of the above post after the big image...ignore mey post since its the same.
