[hqyoutube]HuC1a8hsi-4[/hqyoutube] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuC1a8hsi-4 Here is a Beta sample of game play for Hoopster. You can get a sense of the swipe/drag shot power component, the accelerometer tilt for alignment and the drag control for movement in Shoot Around. I will post a "hands on device" video a little later. Thanks, Matt
We have posted a micro-site for the game at: http://www.redknightgames.com We will be adding more content in the coming week. Thanks again for the support. Matt
Hoopster has now been submitted to Apple for approval. Thanks for all the support, I will post a link to the app store when the game is live! Matt
while it looks very nice, I'm afraid the gameplay doesn't seem like it will do it for me - sorry! IMO it seems unnatural to pull back to shoot (makes it feel like pinball or something ). surely a swipe forward is more in keeping with realism just my opinion
This looks really good. Graphics look great! It seems similar to some of the others but the graphics look amazing! Any clue what the price will be?
it seemed to me that in the video he was pulling back then releasing his finger, it's hard to tell tho
Red Knight is proud to announce that Hoopster is now live on the App store! http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=308841834&mt=8 Thanks for your support of the game and we look forward to adding even more great features in the near future. Hope your success in the game is better than our March Madness brackets. Matt
@ steviet, We prototyped several control mechanisms and eventually felt (for this type of arcade fast action) that the pull back method felt the most natural for determining shot power. We played some other games that incorporated swipe and felt like the measure was too arbitrary and would not lend itself to more novice players who want to "see" their distance vs. power. We will be listening to user feedback and looking at other possible mechanics in future releases that will improve the user experience in the game. Thanks for your feedback! BTW... the mechanism is touch and drag down for power, then release to shoot. After awhile it becomes a "feel" thing and you don't really even look at the mechanism. Matt
