If you want to "de-break" the game, deleting the game and then reinstalling from the App Store might be the thing to do. Since the save data on your device is corrupt anyway, this is the way you can actually play the game now and try to make up some of that lost progress. If you can remember any details from the crash at all, such as level, what you were doing at the time, your connection to the Internet, etc., I would heartily recommend PMing @Emeric or emailing The Game Bakers with those details. Every bit of information puts them closer to the goal of solving the save data problem. In the meantime, join the club, man. It smarts, I know, but it's being fixed. I kind of want an "Organ Trail" trophy that is unlocked after the bug is fixed, and given to all those that filed a bug report for the data loss. It should read "My save data was eaten by the progress zombies."
@AKLT: thanks for reporting the bug, and sorry to hear it happened to you. As l3aper said, right now the workaround to make the thing rework seems to be to delete the app and reinstall it. It "seems" that it also fixes the 3G connection problem somehow. We are closing in with fixing this crash and save loss, but I can right now unlock part of the content remotely for you if you want to catch up with your progress. So let me know your Combo Crew contact (facebook email or email entered in Combo Crew to create your account) and I'll credit some paddos and unlock levels. Good idea for the achievement ;-).

Guys, we've almost found the problem for the save bug! Pretty soon we'll also share with you a list of "pro tips" to increase your scores. In the meantime, I'll start working on content updates. I'm interested to know: > What is the biggest problem to fix, in your opinion. This is a great game and was loving it up to a point. Realised that I needed to start learning how to block but Gina and Parker never seem able to block for me. More to do with my lameness, I'm sure Any tips would really help me to give this another shot otherwise I'll have to give up. When I see the red question mark appear above a baddies head, I pretty much tap on the baddie (since this is easiest for me) but I still get floored!! How do you guys block, or maybe you don't? Any tips, gratefully accepted.
All characters block the same way, but there is a little thing to understand. Here is how it works. > You can block only when an enemy wants to attack you. When an enemy wants to attack you, he will have a big exclamation mark above his head. > When you see that "!", you just tap briefly on the screen, anywhere. Your character will shortly take the block pose, and after the enemy hit, he will counter-attack. ATTENTION: you cannot block until your current move is finished. So for instance, if you START a long combo while an enemy is targeting you, tapping the screen to block WON'T work. You have to be careful and not swipe-mash the screen to attack enemies, if you do you'll probably get hit. Two little tips for beginners about blocking: > If you follow each "combo" (two fingers swipe) by tapping the screen repetively, you're pretty much safe. > Each time you see a "!" appear, tap the screen until you counter.

Great game! The combos feel very "crunchy" when you string a bunch of hits in a row. The only feature I'd consider is some sort of grab-and-pummel or throw/slam moves; ala Streets of Rage or Double Dragon. Perhaps a push and hold to start (on a target) then tap to beatdown, swipe to throw (forward toss, back suplex, up jump slam/piledriver, etc) Zangief-style spinning piledriver always felt satisfying . The grab and beatdown always was a fave of mine in these kinda games. Great effort on this one again, really enjoying it. Minor echo of others: maybe GC or some easier crew add methods?
I want to be able to cancel rescue requests I made. And execute air attacks reliably instead of attacking what's behind. I'd actually like to see more dynamics added but here we go: Sammo could use more moves with crowd control properties. I want a guardbreaker! Like nekros said, moves that grapple New control option: Shake the device to activate the super combo! It would be nice to have a way to manually move to the back of a target and vice versa (launch a specific enemy at a group, safer position for a juggle, etc). Double tap a target to move, double tap again to move behind? You could treat it like a feint and enemies could respond to this by guarding or initiating an attack. Add a few more hits to an air attack. 1 or 2 additional hits (depending on the character) requiring swipes to pull off as well I was thinking of a charged 2 finger swipe to power up combos (add guardbreaker when fully charged?) or maybe just hold 2 fingers down for a new move. (like that grapple if it's not going to be a new combo) I thought about all the coins I can get and maybe we could get more enhancements that improve a certain style, different from the way boosts function. These new consumables last an entire playthrough or until you request for a rescue. They are equipped before starting a game mode other than King of the Tower. Effects could be to increase 360 range, become invincible during an air attack, add 1x multiplier to an attack type, etc.

We'll think about all that in the next update (the "cancel rescue" is already done, but won't be in the very next update because it's only bug fixes). and YES, we found and fixed the save bug thanks to you and the few other players who reported it! So THANKS A LOT! This bug was probably the nastiest of my developer life, and was really hard to track. Thanks to your help, we manage to narrow down a reproduction rule and to fixe it, hopefully. For your info, it's a weird bug that happened to corrupt the format of the save file when you reach the gold medal on level 21 or 31 or after 10 rescue! Hard to find out, I agree! The update is currently waiting for review from Apple's team, and we hope it'll release soon next week. We plan to update with new content pretty soon as well, but until then, if you want a little gift, I should be able to grant you gamepads, coins or unlock gold medals to any round you want. Just let me know your account email and I'll do it at once! If your game is still crashing and buggy, the best is to delete it and install it again, and write to me so that I can unlock stuff remotely so that you catch up your progress. If you truly want to expand upon what is already making Combo Crew so awesome (and one of my current action favourites for iOS), I'd say Echoen's suggestions is a great place to start. I do understand that this is stuff more viable for a sequel than a content patch, what with all the rebalancing and fiddling that might be necessary after the introduction of so many new mechanics, but hey, mobile gaming is not currently a triple-A-threatening titan as a result of fans and developers being realistic :
Some Things I miss on the game: -Bonus stages, like Final Fight and Street Fighter. -Fight noises like grunts, groans and screams. But not every punch or something like that, it would be tiring. But the fighters "sound" mute. -Things that moves or crashes with impacts or falls. Like in Street Fighter when you fight Ken, Ryu or Guile. By Street Fighter I mean Street Fighter 2, of course.
Today the game started to crash on first screen. Shows "tap to start" and closes. Is this only with me?
@Pipipitchu: Bonus stages!!! That's something I have in mind since the beginning, but I had to postpone that again and again and finally we didn't have time to do it. But I'll try to put that in an update for sure! Also, for your crash, I think it might be our famous "save reset crash"... If you had created an account, at this stage, the best is probably to delete the app and redownload it. The server save is possibly still ok and you could restore your progress like that. If not... then PM me and I'll credit your account with some gamepads and coins so that you can catch up your lost progress fast. Real sorry about that bug, it's fixed in the next update, which I pray Apple to greelight every second.
I appear to have a bug with Dolph in Combo Crew Mode. I cannot complete the "Perfect combo in round one" mission dispite doing that exact thing numerous times.
@Anilones: This is a known bug and it'll be fixed in the next update (hopefully today or tomorrow). Sorry about that! Thanks for the great ideas. The grapple thing is going to be hard because of the animation work it'll require, but all the other ideas are awesome and we'll think about it. This was a really disappointing title for me. I love Squids and the Wild West sequel. This game is just manic swiping. No control over the players movement, he/she just runs to where you swipe and kicks the enemies ass. It was so redundant I just installed it. Was I missing something?
