Definitely going to try it out! MetaGonzo Well-Known Member May 7, 2009 1,442 257 83 #5 MetaGonzo, Aug 9, 2017 There's a good shooter here; very CS-like (obviously). I've said it before but there's a lot going on out of game, menus and load out systems could be streamlined a bit but that's very secondary to gameplay of course. I'd love to see 3D Touch to fire as an option like DeadHeads (such a great system for touchscreen shooters) getting rid of the need for auto fire. Also, I can't wait for the player base to build so it can be all human matches. The AI's not bad but it's not the same of course. MetaGonzo Well-Known Member May 7, 2009 1,442 257 83 #6 MetaGonzo, Aug 9, 2017 Had much more fun on the Asia server because there's more players and it's great to see. Shame my ping sucks. Come on Europe; give it a go. Jazzthrasher Member Sep 15, 2016 6 0 0 Creative Director Münster (GER) http://www.andreaskuetemeier.de #7 Jazzthrasher, Aug 10, 2017 Imho the Game is horrible. Gly grafix, messed up gui and the worst gameplay since ever. It looks and feels like a 15 year old game. MetaGonzo Well-Known Member May 7, 2009 1,442 257 83 #8 MetaGonzo, Aug 10, 2017 Well I think it intends to play rather like CounterStrike and that came out more than 15 years ago. Like it or dislike it but I think that's what they're aiming for. Gluskap Well-Known Member Sep 12, 2015 236 1 16 #9 Gluskap, Aug 11, 2017 This is horrible all around. Freemium (or should I say pay to win with all the gear system), clunky, auto shooting, looks really bad. Don't tell me to turn off auto shoot, because every other player who is going to delete the game in 3 minutes (like I did) and their mothers are using it and when you turn it off there is huge aim assist which changes nothing actually. If you want to play a good FPS then try Critical Ops. It's very polished, plays really well similar to real Counter Strike. They only sell weapon skins and that's it, no bullshit. BTW Counter Strike and Counter Strike Online are very different things. CS Online was a shitty version of the game targeted towards Asia market. AeroSmash Well-Known Member May 11, 2015 76 0 0 #10 AeroSmash, Aug 11, 2017 I played but unistalled after the tutorial. I hate the ugly UI that the game have. It's really ugly, the menu looks like a Windows 98 game. adamphetamine Well-Known Member Jan 4, 2011 966 31 28 Programmer/3D Modeling Bethlehem, Pa #11 adamphetamine, Aug 11, 2017 Ugh gave it a try but it's just flat out bad Lunacy182 Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2012 135 0 0 #12 Lunacy182, Aug 12, 2017 Wow. This was surprisingly fun. Team AI is a bit dumb but I'm guessing that because you eventually unlock better members for your team. khaLeL New Member Apr 11, 2017 3 0 0 #13 khaLeL, Sep 4, 2017 I've played a few fps like MC5, MCVs, C-Ops, B-Force, Guns Of Boom, DeadHeads, and now this new kid on the block. I have been playing for 2 days now and so far i liked the new gameplay (i.e. counter strike on mobile). This is my short review of the game. 7 Game modes: Most of fps games out there had modes that is repetitive, like TDM, Cap the flag, free-for-all / last man standing. So far I am liking the new stuff that combat squad has. Lots of game modes but I will only highlight what I like so far. The bomb plant/diffuse brings back memories on those good ol'days of counter strike. Not many mobile fps do this, which for me is a good addition to the game. The squad battle is a new mode that I like. It is more team based/strategic mode that is something different in other mobile fps. This mode has lots of potential since it is a new way to be competitive, you will control your squad of AIs to get the objective. Then there is the zombie mode, which I still haven't played yet so far coz of the lack of players to team up with this mode. Then there is the classic TDM. Maps: The game have a few maps that came from counter strike, which made me love to play the game more coz those maps brings back memories and I am familiar with them. Guns: There was a time when I was so hooked with COD4 and the weapons was part of the reason for that. Then Modern Combat 5 came and its weapons got me hooked again. I get attracted playing with guns that is close to the weapons our military use in current times and in some way how they are being portrayed in gaming. The guns in combat squad is where I got attracted to play the game. I love the sound, the realistic reload animation, gun specific properties (i.e. handling, recoil, etc.). Others: Aside from maps, modes and guns, the game has other stuffs to offer too, such as armors, skill perks, and agents. The game has a leveling system for guns, armor and skills. You open chests to acquire armors and guns, you can buy new agents, and you need to get your profile/account to a specific level to unlock skill perks. Now with all these stuff (i.e. guns, armor, perk, agents) this is where the freemium game model kicks in. The game offers 2 in-game currency, diamonds and coins. You can get coins as rewards after a match or from daily goals, then diamonds are rewards after you got an in-game achievement, or watching ads. These coins/diamonds are used to open chests to get armors/guns or buy an agent. I bought a pack with real $ to get M4A1, AK47 and a few armors, and of course these weapons deal more dps that low lvl guns. I got my SMG MP5 as the default SMG and the dps is not that high, so I open a few chests then got it to lvl 8 and it now has decent dps. As other games on the freemium model, you need to grind your way to level up everything, from guns, armors, and perks to beef up your agents. If you ask me if this is a P2W game, I would say, to level up your stuff faster you need to spend real $ to do that, and to get the best stuff faster you need to cash in a few.
