Kind of reminds me of a 2048 style play, but with colors not numbers. This is better though. Lots of twists and things to challenge you. Bought the Unlock right away. slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #6 slewis7, Jan 15, 2015 Wow! This is brilliant. Also, you can quickly learn the game and the 99 cent unlock removes advertisements (which are pretty unobtrusive) and adds new game modes. Thanks to LordGek for suggesting the game! vectorarchitekt Well-Known Member Dec 29, 2013 2,489 177 63 #7 vectorarchitekt, Jan 15, 2015 I would Love to see some slightly less "pastely" theme options. Going in, I'll admit, I thought, "Cute, a color based take on Threes!" but once I played, it is clearly a twisted and original concept. I love the game's twisted evolutionary flow: 1) Two different primary colors produce a secondary when merged. 2) Two different secondary colors produce brown when merged. 3) Two browns produce black when merged. 4) Two blacks produce a diamond when merged. 5) A diamond can then be merged with a red or green tile to up it's value. 6) Once colored gems, they can no longer merge and can only be eliminated by grouping with other gems in a 2x2 square. If the above flow weren't freaky enough, there are 3 other bits floating about the periphery: 1) If you can ever create an entire row or column (5 in a row) of a single color, you'll gain a random powerup (usually some sort of bomb to clear out things when stuck). 2) White tiles with 1-4 little color tags can suddenly appear to muck things up. The only way to clear these obstacles is to simply give them what they want or blow them up. 3) Primary colored poker chips can drop by from time to time. These things are your buds! Just merge one into something like you would a normal primary color tile to earn a chip which can be spent once stuck to get you a random powerup! My only request at this point, I'd love it if the locks and keys could somehow show up in the regular game at some late stage or maybe just a new high score based game mode with the lock and key element (maybe like a score based gameplay of a connected series of challenge levels?). slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,768 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #10 slewis7, Jan 15, 2015 A few minor quibbles: I thought the help presented when first playing the game did not explain things enough (for instance, the overall goal of the game). Regardless, it only took a few minutes to understand how to play. When finishing a game in standard mode, it would be nice to have an immediate retry option instead of having to go back to the home screen to restart. The in-game Game Center icons does not give me access to leaderboards and achievements. It jumps right into the Challenge I received with no access to the other areas. I am loving this game! I like your lock and key idea, I'll have to play around with that for a future update. One advanced tip, that isn't obvious from the start: The powerups you earn from making rows differ depending on the color of the row. Particularly, a row of Emeralds, or row of White = 4X multiplier (this becomes the crux of the whole game) readysetretro Well-Known Member Apr 24, 2012 61 0 0 http://Www.readysetretro.com #13 readysetretro, Jan 15, 2015 A restart button should make it into the first update. I experienced a similar bug with Game Center temporarily linking to the wrong area, and it automatically fixed itself. I'm still looking into it, but may be a Game Center issue. vectorarchitekt Well-Known Member Dec 29, 2013 2,489 177 63 #14 vectorarchitekt, Jan 15, 2015 Awesome! If you can please consider multiple or customizable color options and themes? Though a night mode would definitely help. PBSNellie Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2013 1,381 168 63 Southern CA #15 PBSNellie, Jan 15, 2015 It took me one round in the game to buy the full unlock which also removes ads (that's a deal breaker for me). For .99, I can't go wrong and I can see that I will be playing this for a long time. I love the concept, sort of threes mixed with colors on steroids.Nice job! Thinking more about my Lock & Key mode idea, you'd likely need to introduce turn limits or else the key to huge scores would be to stick to the first level indefinitely. So I would think some arbitrary turn limit with a decent bonus given for unused turns before the player is whisked off to a tougher Lock & Key level. You might even spin other challenges into their own modes, but hopefully each will stick to the same core mechanics (I think it might be a bit weird to go from Lock & Key to Create a Diagonal in the same scoring game mode). Minor Buglet: When playing with Lock & Key, the game will hint (shake tiles) even for illegal key on key or lock on lock moves. So while the game is smart enough to not allow such a move, it will still suggest it. Question: How do the Score Multipliers work? I assumed like a normal powerup so I dropped it on an Emerald in the playfield but don't see any indication the multiplier is now in effect. As mentioned above, I would also like to see a Restart Button, as well as a Dark Charcoal Gray, or "Night" Mode, be a selectable option. Just like the eBay app for iPad had, before they destroyed it. Can you also update the app for iPhone 6 plus resolution? I gave this game a shot and after a few games purchased the unlock. Very fun game for sure. If you enjoy puzzle games you will enjoy this. The best part is it's free. If you like the game enough you can pay a buck and unlock additional modes. Give this game a shot everyone. What do you have to lose?
